I have been a medic and doctor for a while. Even though I am healing at a resonable rate, I am seeing peeps healing and buffing at a much higher rate than I. I am wanting to know if any of you can give me some tips as to what type of materials to use to make the best meds. Let me know Thanks

Just follow what your schematics tell you to use, any organics need to have a high OQ and PE and any inorganics need a high OQ and UT rating. Just remember the PE or UT only counts toward 33% of the rating where as the OQ is 66% of the total.

You didn't say if you were a mster doctor or not, but having all the experimentation points/all the doctor crafting skills will help get the most out of your products of course.

Just remembed any organics - the best OQ/PE you can find and any inorganics called for should be the best OQ/UT you can get your hands on.

If you're after power, ignore UT entirely - here's why. It's much easier to find an inorganic with OQ 900+ and UT ? than it is to find an inorganic with OQ 900+ and UT 900+. By ignoring UT, you also open the door to all sorts of other inorganics, such as lubricating oils, which often have a high OQ but no UT rating whatsoever.

So what does that mean to your final product? More power, less charges, right? Absolutely wrong. Think about how you experiment on your items fora minute. If you're after high powered meds, I'll bet you spend all of your points on power and maybe, if you have a point or two left over, you spend it on charges. And, in just about every case, I'll be you have lots of room to improve charges that you never get to use because you're out of experimentation points. So, you see, by trying to track down resources with high UT, you're really just wasting all that effort as you're not maxing out charges, anyway.

So, if you want to make high quality meds (let's take a stim B, for example), look for the absolute best organic you can get (OQ and PE need to be very high) and an inorganic with high OQ (and forget about the dang UT). Don't settle for anything less than 900 in the OQ and PE of the organic and nothing below 900 for the OQ of the inorganic. Anything above that is just icing on the cake.

I've written a lot about this - check out the FAQ for more details about the crafting system.

Having the highest OQ/PE organics is very important, but I wouldn't totally just forget about UT in your inorganics.

Sincemost crafting Doctors don't spend any experimentation points on charges, having a good inorganic withhigh OQ/UTfor the final assembly is something worth while to have. I pretty much think of adding a high OQ/UT iron or gemstone as like getting free experimentation points to charges. With just a basic 20c/13p ABEC and some 979 OQ/ 959 UT, I can make a 40 charge Stim B without using one point of experimentation on the final product.Just think of it as an added bonus, not something to totally ignore all together.

As far as finding a good inorganic to use for final assemblies on stims and such, on my server certain gemstones, steel and most types of iron especially Kammris iron spawn often enough with impressive OQ/UT ratings. Just take a look at www.swgcraft .com for what your server has available. Its not a perfect listing but its the best picture of whats around.

I guess it really comes down to is is your product for yourself/PA or forselling the best product you can make.

You're also making the mistake of thinking PE isn't as needed as a good OQ.

Remember you have 2 components with OQ, and quite possibly only 1 with PE. 66% will come from OQ, divide that by the 2 resources you have with OQ, and you're left with 33% (same as the weighting of PE).

I would rather have a resource with 800/800 PE/OQ than 500/950 PE/OQ. When crafting meds, those are almost always equal weightings.
