Hi guys i have just mastered doc for the second time but this time I have decided to craft my own buff packs, and my question is,
In the case of INORGANICS, would you vets harvest
1; OQ 945
UT 861
or
2: OQ 998
UT 529
While i have an extractor harvesting resource 1 i am still trying to understand experimenting %'s which makes me wonder about resource 2
Many thanks

945 + (861 / 2) = 1375.5
998 + (529 / 2) = 1262.5
the first choice is better figuring 66% for OQ and 33% for UT.
998 + (529 / 2) = 1262.5
the first choice is better figuring 66% for OQ and 33% for UT.

I'd harvest resource number 2 myself... OQ is the only stat that matters on the inorganic for power, and 998 is a big difference from 945... Depending on what you're making, the difference in UT will cost you in the vicinity of 1-4 charges.
Of course, if you're using this to make action enhances, then the DR is also an important consideration -- I keep a stock of 10 or so inorganics with 995+ OQ and varying DRs to aid in matching the duration of the meat packs...
[edit: and also, the formulae in the schematics use weighted averages, so (because one resource has no UT) it actually works out to 50%oq/50%ut for charges...]

I'd harvest #2 as well.
Yes, #1 is better for charges (66% OQ, 33% UT).
In fact, #1 is better as a balanced inorganic resource considering both power and charges (which would weigh closer to 80% OQ, 20% UT).
But I don't want a balanced resource. I want power. I am never going to max out the charges line on any product I make, other than ABECs, so what resource generates the most max charges is irrelevant. The real question is, what is the difference between resource 1 and resource 2 for the starting value for charges, before any experimentation is done. Using resource 1 and a great organic, experimentation of charges might start at 28%. Starting with resource 2 and the same great organic, it might start at 26%. The final difference after spending 2 to 4 points on charges experimentation is going to be that exact same 2% difference. So while the different resources may generate a difference of 2 in max charges (on a stim B), the effective difference in charges is only around 0.4 since you won't max out the line in any case. The 53 point difference in OQ would lead to a about 3 point difference in power (on a Stim B). So it's basically a 0.4 charge for 3 power trade-off. Of course since we don't really know where the fractions will fall on charges, we don't know if we are really trading 1 charge for 3 power or 0 charges for 3 power.
Since I care about power far more than charges (yet I don't want to ignore starting values on charges), I weight general inorganic at 90% OQ, 10% UT. Under that weighting, I would go with #2, though it is close and you can't go wrong with either.

Yah, it really boils down to this: the difference between those two resources is 1 maybe 2 charges, and about 5-10 power. Not worth really worrying about.
The real question to ask is this: Which ones easier to harvest

Buffs are rated by power by the purchasees. They could care less about the charges. Only the doctor cares about the charges. With that being said, I'd take #2.
