OK so i'm bored the other night and I decide to go to the theed cantina, on my way there I stopped by the med center to see if anyone needed training (sometimes people actually are there).
I walk in and see two people, and AFK tumbler, and a "novice medic." I casually say "hi, how are ya" and get no response. Ok....... then I say "need any training?" again... no avail. This one-sided conversation goes on for about 5 minutes the whole time the guy is still dropping stims on him. I examine them, they are both imperial, and the "novice doctor" was has or is a Imperial Ace Pilot as well as a master of a combat profession (I don't remember which)
now i'm a rebel, and I understand that macroing is needed to grind and whatnot, but this guy is an ace pilot and has nothing better to do than to sit in a med center and drop stims on an afk tumbler and not be at his cpu, he was not marked afk so i dont give him the benefit of the doubt.
so what did i do? i buffed the secondaries on the afk tumbler. now at this point the pilot was not wasting stims on nothing, i didn't see the little symbol coming down or anything so i knew that wasn't the case. they were good buffs too like 2450 for 3hrs
just seeing who is with me or who hates me now

hahaha good now i know i am not the only one who does that to afk tumblers. But i only do it if they are both afk of there are people needing to be healed and the tumbler is getting all the attention. welcome to the club

I'd never waste good buffs on tumblers (unless I had extras), I'd toss together some enhances out of whatever was on-hand. More likely I'd ignore it, but I don't mind others doing otherwise...

You can argue this both ways.
The combat spam is really annoying and it can be satisfying to buff them and think that you have inconvenienced them in some way.
However, this could also be considered griefing. They are doing nothing that hurts you except generating combat spam. There is a mechanism provided to prevent the spam (/addignore).
I personally feel an irresistable urge and obligation to buff each and every one of them, but don't.
If you continue buffing themyou will see that it is no more of a gesture than sticking your finger in a small hole in a dike that is streaming more water from cracks all around you. It may make your feel good but it is futile.

he was probably crafting ABEC's and didn't see you with the inv window and crafting window open, but if he's gonna sit in a med centre then he's asking for trouble, anyone can throw stims at his alt and deny him of xp.
I have used a tumbler but I made sure I did it in a remote spot, and like you I sometimes pop into med centres to see if anyone needs teaching. Spending tons on wheat/fibreplast etc can get expensive when grinding, so it's always good to save money on training.

I too get frustrated when I see a medic/doc and a tumbler who are both afk in a med center. It's just rude to do this in a med center, when there are so many private or out-of-the way places that you can go if you both are going to macro tumble. I'm looking forward to tumbling leaving the game with the HAM revamp, assuming it will work similar to the HAM System Revamp thread in the In Concept forum.

First this is officially ruled as griefing by the devs a while ago
Second, good for you! I actually worked through my MD and medic on mutiple characters by *gasp* healing people.
I sat with docs that were buffing and healed the wounds of people being buffed, I went into the cantina and found someone grinding dancer or musician and would heal them, being beneficial to both of us with out spamming.
I was hopeing that with hologrinding being done there was going to be no more grinding of professions but people learning them. Guess not.

I believe this actually did happened, just not specifically in thecase of the Doc prof, since many players out there, even though not caring too much for the prof itself, end up grinding an alt up to Master Doc tobasicallyuse it later on as a buff-bot for his/her main toon.
