Hey,

Figured I'd give a few tips to aspiring doctors out there. Most of this stuff might be common knowledge to the grizzled vets, but it could help the new docs acheive master medicine crafting asap.

Ok, first tip. I don't craft items to look for credits in return. That means, I won't craft a stim that gives me less experience just because I can sell it. That's just me though. I'd personally rather have the experience as quickly as possible than try to turn a profit. Credits are relatively easy to come by anyways.

Second, open up your options (Ctrl+O), go under Misc, and turn off "Confirm Crafting Actions." This will save you needless clicking if you can follow a good pattern.

Third, have multiple food/chem crafting kits. You can use more than one kit at a time. For example, if I'm making Enhance Health A's, then I have 3 food/chem kits. I make 3 Bio Controllers, then 3 Chem Release Mechanisms, then 3 Solid Delivery shells, and finally, 3 Enhance Health A's, in that order. This avoids having to wait for individual parts to finish crafting before you can make the end result.

As far as what to make? Well, I can't say I've tried *everything* and added upthe experience to see what's best, but I've stuck with Enhance Health A's, and they've gotten me far. They don't require any factory items, meaning you can make all the components (and thusly reap the experience from them) yourself. This is my recommendation.

I hope this helps, as I wasn't able to find a concise guide on this subject anywhere.

Anyone that has better info, please feel free to let us know.

A few more tips that I forgot to mention.

I create the Enhance Wound A's in practice mode. This way, I get the 5% exp. bonus, and I don't have to try to find a place to keep all the stuff I'm making.

Don't experiment if you're just practicing (not keeping what you're making). Experimentation does nothing to add to your experience total.

Ingredient quality doesn't matter either as far as experience goes. Use any materials that you can get your hands on for practicing.

I trained the third level of medicine crafting last night in about 4-5 hours. I expect to finish the last level today in about 6 hours. So, finishing this branch off isn't a big deal, so long as you have the time and the materials.

Good luck docs.

wow, i'm impressed at your mindlessness! /wink

how can you just sit there for hours and hours crafting the same old thing over and over and over

I can only make about 10 of those things before I become a human. . . well, something bad! that's for sure

Eh, it's not that bad.

If you think about it, you can finish the entire branch in a couple of days, then not worry about it again.

It's better than training .3 points of Magery a day in UO. :-P

I used Adv BECs and had my factory going making Stim Es at the same time. I got the Master Box done in about 3 hours. I had 4 crafting tools so I could pump out about 4 every 30 seconds. When grinding I think it is important to remeber that it is not really what you craft but how fast you can combine alot of resources. This is due to the way the exp works for crafting. It is based on per unit of resource not what you are crafting. I dont remeber what it is per unit. Think it might be 2 or 3. Another thing about using Adv BECs over normal ones is you have to push the buttons a whole lot less. My hand and wrist hurt after that. I could not imagine how it would be with the 5 or 6 hours it would have taken me with the normal BECs.
