I wanted to share this experience with you guys and get your thoughts on how you would feel about this or ifitwould affect youat all..

First, a little background, I'm a master doctor/TKA working towards TKM..

I was in Bestine the other day (don't really know why, I think I was just planet hopping.) when someone invited me into their hunting group. We were to go hunt Krayt dragons near the Krayt graveyard. Since I favor hunting in groups a great deal, I jumped at the offer. I decided after about 10 to 15 minutes on this trip that I wasn't going to get good unarmed XP so I took the responsibility of being the groups dedicated healer. Now, keep in mind that I'm a master doc so I don't NEED any medical XP at all. During this trip I did all of the following.. Healed damage, healed states, healed wounds, never had to rez because I did everything else so well.. As an added bonus I buffed the leader and any brawlers so that they could get the max number of hits in before needing a heal. This went on for over an hour and a half and then we relocated to Dathomir at which point the group got considerably smaller, probably about 10 people or so. We got jumped at one point by a bunch of lizards so I had to rez a few times but I cured a lot of poison and disease and healed a LOT of damage.. I had to craft stimpacks several times to replenish my supply.

Now, we weren't running missions most of the time, but rather were just randomly hunting and killing everything in our path.

Now guess what my total tips were for the entire night of hunting.... The leader tipped me 5k.... That's it....

Has anyone else had similar experiences.. I guess the only reason that it bothers me is because I wonder if I didn't get tipped because I wasn't a good healer or if people just don't tip healers in hunting groups..

What are your thoughts?

why would u expect a tip from a hunting group? even if u didnt need the med xp itsa hunting group, everyone contributes their skills and expertise, so why would u expect a tip just b/c u healed? I'm pretty sure the rest of ur group didnt know that u needed unarmed xp but didnt need med xp.

Because if I hadn't healed they likely would have died. Geeez, docs really ARE expected to do everything for free. It did after all cost me money to craft those meds that healed them. It doesn't cost anything to shoot stuff.

Has anyone else had similar experiences.. I guess the only reason that it bothers me is because I wonder if I didn't get tipped because I wasn't a good healer or if people just don't tip healers in hunting groups..

Rule 1: Arrange fees *before* going hunting and get a half now/half later deal. If not then agree on a price for your stims and rez kits then guarantee XX number of kits/stims for the trip. Money up front.

Rule 2: See rule 1.

I am just starting to work up the Med/Doc line, but whenever I needed buffs or wanted a Doc on the hunting trip then I would pay up front for his services. If hunting for missions it was often enough for the med/doc to receive the mission payout share, on top of which we would agree to harvest the organics he rquired and hand them over at the end of the mission.

The only time I would give services for free would be guild hunts, or if I bump into a guild member out in the field. Other than that my first question is "do you have medical insurance?"

I kinda like the sound of that.. Just before the trip starts say something like "Everyone who tips me 5k credits right now goes on my list of people to rez if you die,everyone else must clone!"

Ya hunting with groups isa tough one, people need doctors and appreciate there services, but don't ip much for it. I actually don't fret too much anymore and instead justharvest skins off of dead animals and sell it (armorsmith grind) - or gather meatthat way. I don't go on NPC hunts much due to me wanting to keep "okay" NPC faction unless I am with a group of players I like hanging out with or faction/player city RP related group thing etc..

Also when I am with a group and we are on a planet with a decent meat spawn I ask for the others to gather meat for me (more than one player in a group can harvest the same resource off of a dead beast now) and have them give it to me, whichhasn't been a problem yet.

But ya I have had the same experience as you, lots of travel, healing and little or no tips. I look at these times as an opportunity to harvest and/or hangout with other players. Heck I don't even care aboutcombatXP for me it is harvest and social, credits are secondary - but that's just me. Though once I start feeling "used" or the group I am is acting"silly" ie,running back into the fray after I revive them and their mind is at 10 points and/or not taking anything but carnoire meat missions because the pay out is 19k (and more dangerous) than the13k for herbavoire (usually non agro cons) that's mycue to hop on my speeder and ride off into the sunset.
