"Dont compliment the buffs until Im completly finished"
I swear theres a buff jinx in the source code.I can hit all 2500+s and as soon as someone says "Hey, nice buffs!" BAM 1000-1100 for the rest of their stats /sigh
MD = no more healing for 'free'.
The buff thing is a little ludicrous. I'm tempted to use Enhance-C, no one will ever know!

I was buffing myself yesterday and got 2000 plus rolls on Health, Strength, and Constitution and then gota 864 roll on ACTION!!
I could have lived with it anywhere but there! ![]()
Heh! Could not agree more. I think I will start saying that before I get buffing,it will bemy mantra.
I was goofing off in Theed the other night, and since I had just laid down some serious cash on prime resourcesand made some test enhances, I decided to hang out in the medical center.
I always start with health and action to get the important ones out of the way.Clients like a nice health and action buff, and it looks good if someone is eyeing them for PvP. I was kicking 1500-2500 pretty nicely. But it felt likeif the person said anything positive, i'd have to close my eyes when I did the secondary buffs.Nothing like a800 buff with a pack that just did 2700 on the last person after they get done praising you.
A pair of people came in. I did a flawless set of buffs on him, the best I'd done to date. He bragged it up to his buddy who was next in line. I did a 900 health and a 880 action. Feh. Next step was to duel him, db him, res him, and start fresh. What a drag. Like many fellow MD's, this has been one of my top votes on Z's issue list every round.
I refuse to rebuff crappy rolls. I have made the best kit I can that usually does really good buffs. If the system is going to screw me (and the buff-ee) then that is just something we will have to live with until it changes. Currently i have a standard disclaimer about the variability.
The variability is just unacceptable to me and I won't play any games to try and make up for it. Also I do not believe the fix for this is rebuffing, the fix is to have a reasonable random variable around the base buff and have that variability DECREASE as you go up the Master Doctor line. None of this 2500 one buff then 800 the next. I would MUCH rather have a consistent 1000-2000 set of buffs with a lower high end, but a higher low end.
So my motto is!:
"I take no responsibility for variability for buffs. If you have comments or complaints about this issue pleasedirect them toSoE."
I agree with you on the re-rbuff. In this case, it was a special request. I did get compensated for the effort, but I still think itwould be great if it wouldn't have happened in the first place. ![]()
I find that with people that are used to getting buffed, they won't complain when the odd one hits low, since they're used to it. Some will complain a bit, but this happens to a lot of professions. A weaponsmith not getting a good repair on a weapon,a slicer that got damage instead of speed, or what have you.
I had one guy tell me that his doctor friend "always" gets above 2500 on his buffs, how high to mine hit? I told him I didn't want to buff him since it's not realistic to expect that from me, and I have crafted some nice eff buffs, too.
Hehe ya there is always this other "Doctor friend" that has they WONDERFUL and AMAZING buffs. Of course I am the Doctor there and then and they can either have my pretty decent buffs or go talk to their friend.
Man I sound so bitchy.
Don't let my cynacism fool you though, I have a pretty decent bedside manner when I am buffing and healing. It is just that I have had too many bad experiences that this is something of a sore point, hehe.
Just to finish up though, I too have been hit by the "Good Buff" Curse darn it all!
I use everything I have access to for better buffs. I have 3 clothing items with +12 Wound / Injury Treatment eachthat I wear all the time (not bad for free), I'm ordering better. I use a droid with a 110% med module. I recharge the droid before I start everytime. My buff packs are 810 power (best I can get with bad server resources). I heal all wounds first (don't know if this helps, but doesn't hurt) and have the person get their mind and BF cleared up. I still hit for under 1000 every now and then, but not often at all. That really gets to me sometimes. I don't offer rebuffs because I usually have a line of people that are happy just to get the buffs. Most don't understand that buffs over 600 on the sub stats is overkill.
My new Motto: "Weren't you the guy that didn't tip me when I was a novice medic?" I'll tell them that even if I've never seen them before. ![]()
