PVE diseases/poisons can last anywhere from 30 minutes to upwards of several hours...

Am I better of dieing or what. It seems there is not enough money in curing disease vs. being a buff bot for the masses. Anyone got an idea on durations of mob inflicted diseases: Mild, Med., Strong ?

I know ofno end to low damage mob diseases... Die or get healed up by a doc. If it does have an end, it's not quick by any means.

I got diseased by a Diseased Vynock once (level 12-15 mob) that lasted for over 2 *HOURS* and wracked up MASSIVE wounds since it was late at night and there were no Docs I could find (this was on my wife's character). I personally think that NPC mob disease is severely out of line compared to the creature levels.

Uh, so WE don't want it, and YOU don't want it in for PvP--then why is it still there??

I cure disease and poison wherever I see them. All it takes is a single charge of a C cure disease/poison pack. I don't understand why any doctor would refuse you - maybe they're incompetent or just holo-doctors and don't carry any cure packs.

You also have the 0,4,4,0 docs out there Tale, they just have enough doc to self-buff....

Well, I can fault no doctor for what happened to my wife's character.. It was 3 AM EST and I was on Talus, hardly a beehive of activity. Even shuttling off to Coronet still came up fruitless so she just sat there in the med center ticking away while someone working through Novice Medic healed her after a few ticks.

I was, and still am, amazed that SOE has given a level 12 or 15 mob the ability to accrue thousands of wounds on a player over the span of HOURS. A rancor, krayt or something I can understand, but a diseased vynock/fynock/nuna??

when i flew out to get the dathomir sarlac badge...

That poison lasted the rest of that night, and when I logged on the next day after a few hours.

I am a doctor, and I coulda healed it, however I wanted to test exactly how long it would last...

answer ... crazy long

A lot of poisons/diseases last a looooong time. If you don't think you will be able to find a doc with the proper meds soon, I'd just die a fool's death (ie.Play hide-and-seek with a Rancor).

I've cured a LOT of disease since they increased the frequency of it. I think I have been tipped twice. There's no money in it, but it's a doctor's role to carry a poison and disease pack to help those in need.

Buffing and selling advanced Stim-B's are the big money makers for a Master Doc. Everything else is just entertainment.

Just on a side note - disease can befun too, from a doctor's POV, well mine anyways (I am a bit sadistic).

Blue Con -"Hey doc can you heal me, I am diseased/poisoned?"

Ido an examine on the wound filled blue con, who I have never met before.

Me -"Glad to hear you helped the rebellion deal with that Dr Vecca problem (sp?) - *reaches into bag and drops the head of a rebel medic at your feet* - Maybethis guy can helpyou. See you later"

Those are quality SWGmoments for me, yup that they are.

One thing to be aware of when you are a non-doc and are diseased - your battle fatigue affects the number of wounds you get. Unfortunately, when the disease ticks, it also increases battle fatigue. So that 3 wound/tick mynock disease will become a 10 wound/tick disease after an hour or so.

Fortunately, even though there is a shortage of doctors, there is not a shortage of entertainers (of course there may be on whatever remote planet you are on). You can get an entertainer to heal your battle fatigue, heal the wounds with novice medic skills, then get back to hunting. In this way, it is possible to wait out the disease with little impact.

Good point, happymob, didn't know that about BF.

I cure disease when I see it, but really, it's a boon for lower level medics. An Adv Wound B and another character with a bad disease is a good combo for grinding skill boxes, probably better from a milleu standpoint than repeatedly burning your pet. In fact, I have seen dancer-addicted people ask to get mind-diseased by a CM just to buff the dancers' XP. Disease won't kill, it will just make you wish you were dead, and in the meantime the dancers get Ent Health XP out the wazoo.
