Thread: Using new droid battery each buff?

I've heard people mention using a new droid battery on each buff. Is this really necessary? I mean do our buffs get weaker as the droids battery runs lower? I haven't noticed this, anyone know for sure if using a new one each time actually helps?

noone know for sure , it's all just speculation.

Personally , i use a new battery each time I pull my droid out. I think i was getting all 900's buffing myslef , pulled a new battery out , then got a 2990 buff on my last stat , and since then i've been using a new battery each time.

Luckily I'm an ex-DE , and i have crates upon crates upon crates of batteries.

But the people that swear by this method are the same that have lucky underwear and wash thier hands 4-5 times an hour

I also do stupid things like Buff a stat , hover my mouse over the "enhance target" button untill i see the "you are ready to heal more wounds..." message , then click enhance target ...etc etc....

When I experiment on certian things i only use 2 points at a time , etc etc

It's all superstitions

I read this yesterday (about the batts before every buff) and tried it out on dath last night with my group. Only have 1 buff drop below 2k ... very rare for me usually all over the place ... 1/36 buffs I'd say that is more than coincidence.

in my experience i don't think it matters, but maybe that's just me.

i can buff someone's health and strength for over 2k and then on constitution get the "you must be in a hopsital....etc." message. then obviously i'd pump a battery or two into mr. droid and hit his constitution for 1.1k.

Need to try this myself, my old R5 went for eons without batteries (got in August), post-nerf it eats one every once in a while. I just got a new R3, which given its far superior capabilities should by comparison be a power-hog. Interesting that the F&C works whether it has any charge or not.

Better results with fresh batteries would suggest that the droid uses more power when in use rather than a time-based decay whenever it's pulled out and operational.

I put a new battery in just because there's no accurate way to gauge its power level. If you're in a camp or somewhere else that would allow buffing, and your droid runs out of power, there's no way to really know unless you issue it a command every time to see if you get the low power messages. Just easier to slap in a cheap battery and be done with it. imho anyway

I've noticed that quality of buffs seem to run in streaks, but haven't seen any correlation to how recently a new buff was done.

dont know if there a correlation but i have noticed each time i put in a new battery my buffs on the next patient have almost been over 2k for all 6 stats. fairly consistent to the point i noticed it. then they go back to the same ole variations.

It would be really nice if Droids had a fricken power meter.
