I know that like 99% of the doctors I know on bloodfin BUY their stims from 2 different vendors. I was frustrated about the raising prices and started to look into making my own- only when I see my shopping list- i quickly gave that up.

So my question for you all is; of what you use as a master doctor- what do you make yourself?

Personally- im just making and using my own Woundpacks ( not using advanced components- just using regulars for B woundpacks- expiermented high tho so it works out fine for me) - and Im trying to get resources for my own D stims.

Anyway if you make your own items lemme know Also do you harvest the materials yourself? Buy them in bazzar? Trade forums? or resource vendor

just curious

Franky, I'm pretty lazy and not that hot about investing all of that time and money getting the best resources, then selling it for an 'OK' profit. Regardless of profit, I don't try to strive for the absolute best on the stuff I use as well (ie not manyadvanced components, I still search out those nice high stat materials since I figured out how important those were early on ). Um, let's see, what I use....basic stim C's (base ~ 400) for personal/on other people, basic stim D's (base ~600) for pet use, wound pack A's and C's (base ~ 120), heal state packs (one of each type), cure poison/disease A, B, C (soon to be just A's and C's...C's obviously for PvP purposes), and of course enhance D's (now ~700 base, hopefully higher if I get better avian).

Also, when I first started out in the game, being poor as we all were, I didn't use harvesters at first because, there was no need for it. I then hooked up with a PAmate in-game, took co-ownership of some harvesters there and thus started my long reign of tending those things. I used to buy off of bazaar before that, but not really anymore unless I know exactly what I want (ie specific resource for advanced component or in a med); also buy stuff from people if I come across their shouting ads or vendors and the price is right.

I just started my way to the doctor profession. And so far I have been gathering and making stuff myself with the help of one of my guildmates who is showing me the ropes. I plan on making everything myself with resources i gather myself. Obviously meat takes time and i do have people helping me with that but hey thats just what i do.

I harvest all my own resources and only make stims or anything else w/ adv. components. I even grab my own meat..wait, that didn't sound right...herbivore and avian meat.

I am a master doc/master combat medic and I make ALL my meds. I may be superstitious, but I think my own meds work better. I occasionally check the medical vendors and the stats on my meds are higher. The only thing I mass produce is the components, my house is full of them! I make stim d's for my personal use and stim b's for my guild's use. I make 2 sets of enhance D's everyday. Sometimes it is tedious, but it works for me.

I got myself into the resource business back in August. By November, I had a million credits in the bank and all the resources that I need. God bless Naboo organics.

If you take your time, you can acquire mass amounts of resources. It just takes time.

I produce Stim-C's at the 509 range using only Advanced Liquid Suspension.
I produce E's at the 900 range for myself. (I'm a buffed fencer, and when I need a stim, I really need a big one.)
I produce Wound-C's for healing in the 150 range (which is plenty for wounds).

I am on Bloodfin also and i make everything myself.

I have been playing since beta, and decided on doctor for my character about a month into the game. Till then I was a mishmash of things.

Before picking up smuggler for a holocron, I was a master doctor, scout with hunting 4, marksmen with pistol 4, pistoleer 0041, and artisian with survey 2 I believe.

I can scout and harvest for my own resources, have a small house so I have a lot of lots free.

I'm totally self sufficient, and rarely make anything for other people since that isn't what I want to do in the game and not run a shop.

I've been buying all my stuff except for woundpacks (the ones I make are not that good, around 60 power, but they suffice). Buff packs are very expensive on my new server (Tempest) compared to my old server (Naritus), but I'm just not into gathering all those resources I need for them. And the factory stuff? I don't even have a clue how that works. Maybe I'll start doing that since my gaming experience has become kinda stagnant. A new challenge could make me enjoy playing more. (Not that I'm not having fun, but I am looking for something different).

Factory crafting

Get the best crafting tool you can (14.88 is max) and the best crafting station you can (+42.XX is max). These are not necessary, but will probably improve your results.

Get the resources you need to make a factoryrun, figure 53x whateverfor a full crate and3 tries at a goodschematic.

Get a Food & Chemical Factory. Place the deed by clicking on it in your inventory, it will give you an overhead map. Move the "factory" around until it is in a green spot, then left-click to place.

Put in power and Maintenece credits from the radial menu. Figure 5000 of each (note: radioactive in general has more power units than the number of units of raw material).

Go to your crafting station, make a product and experiment it to the max. Repeat until you have the best result you can get. When it gives you the option of Create Prototype or Create Manufacturing Schematic, choose Schematic. You may have to delete some waypoints to make room in your datapad memory. It will give you a default name, I usually change that to "ABEC 20c-10p" to show what it is when you craft later.

Go to your harvester. From the radial menu, under Options, choose Open Input Hopper. Open your inventory and drag the source materials you used into the input hopper. Close you inventory and the hopper. From the radial menu, Choose Access Schematic Slot. It will give you a list of manufacturing schematics, pick the one you have just made.

From the radial menu, pick Start Manufacturing. The hoppers are now locked until you stop the factory or unitl the run is complete. If you choose Examine from the radial menu, you will get a display telling you what is being made and how long each item takes, in seconds. Multiply this number by the number of units of resources you put in to tell you how long it will take to make the items,a good rule of thumb is that most things are produced at 25 units/hr, plus or minus a couple, for advanced components. A little overrun is nice, it lets you experiment with subcomponents and then make a full run in multiples of 50.

When you have a full run and a complete set of subcomponents to make, say, a StimB, grab an example of each subcomponent and go make a schematic for that. Repeat above steps, and before long you have a crate of something to either sell or carry with you. I personally carry crated subcomponents to get rid of the drudge of grinding all 3 for anything I need, and if I need a StimD or E (or enhance D)I have crated components to make those.

It sounds likea bother and in some ways it is, but it makes life a lot easier when you need to whip up some Woundpacks or Stimpacks on the fly, and you can sell the Stimpacks you make.

ANY StimpackB will sell.

I make everything on my own out of the best available resources.

I have been a doc for bout 2 months and I can tell you that harvesting and selling just medical resources will make you rich extremely quickly.

This also allows you to sell some of your med supplies at a reduced cost wish will also get you more customers.

My Stim b's range from 35 uses and 400 power

My Wound b's range from 45 uses and 150 power

My Stim D's get 48 uses and 750 Power

My Enhance Packs are in the 770 - 810 range lasting 3 - 3.5 hours.

Take being a doctor to the fullest if you're ot a "Holo" Doc...make all your own stuff. Its fun
