Apologies for bringing this up again (I know it was addressed before but I couldn't find the thread)
Have a non-doc character, novice medic, using some Stim B packs with a base of 280. She's wearing BE clothes with +15 to injury and wound treatment. While healing a pet, the heals range from 230-450.
What was the explanation again for why the stimpack is healing below the base of the pack? I know the pack is not labelled incorrectly, as I made them with my doc character.

Its a random roll to determine the heal value, not a set value. Same as why buffs have large variation.

Healing below base can be, in part, attributed to a "crit fail" on your heal roll (if the currnet levels for crafting are any indication that means you should be getting low-ball numbers once every 20-25 heals). But there are also a lot of variable that are considered as well. There's power of the pack and your Injury Treatment skill (wound tratment for wound packs and buffs), as you've already mentioned, but there is also the heal rating for the location or the droid you are using and Battle Fatigue (for the patient, at least, and possibly your own BF factors in as well) to account for. Not to mention if that droid is charged up. (Does anyone know if droids are STILL overriding the ratings even for stims?)

Thanks for the info
Somehow I had this assumption that the base of a pack indicated the minimum it would heal for, and you'd be able to heal for more as you went up the different trees. If it indicates the average, then all's well. It's not really a huge deal either way (the worst I healed was 20 below the pack's base).
