Thread: Crosspost from Medic TEF and Questionable acts
What does anyone do when you have been killed in a med center because you are healing someone and incurr TEF?
Today, I died 3 times in the Eclipse Theed Med center. The center was full with 30+ players and it was confusing. There were two groups running around outside - Rebs vs Imps. They would periodically come in to be healed and, from time to time, the battling would actually enter the Med center despite our requests to take it outside. I am part of neither of these groups that are battling. At one point I look around and see a pet down and a person down so I go to heal them and incurr TEF. I was immediately turned on by specific player Imps. Despite protests by their own group-mates I was death-blowed on three occassions. Then I was told not to heal people by one of the Imps that DBed me. Basically he sat there waiting for me to heal any Rebs and incurr TEF so that he coudl jump me again. I felt this was sort of a terroristic tactic.
I have listed their names down and have refused to heal them ever again. But basically, these players are willing to DB someone for doing their job where they are supposed to. Is there a way for the medics to band together to make sure this stops happening?
Unfortunately I will be leaving for the weekend but look forward to hearing any responses on this issue.
Don't heal Rebels or Imps then. Problem solved.
Im not in a faction yet, but if i see you healing my Enemy, well.... That makes you my enemy. Anything is fair game at that point.
"Don't heal Rebels or Imps then. Problem solved."
Kinda hard to tell when they're covert. IMO healers shouldn't get a TEF cause they're doing what they were ment to do. You don't see other classes like dancers for examplegetting a TEF cause another covert of the opposit faction started watching you, I'm a doctor and I want to join a faction (covert) so I can heal on the battle fields but doing so would endanger my life off the field. It kinda pushes me away from the idea of joining a faction :/
Maybe we can ask Zarlor to place on the list of fixes an option for this,
Tell me what you think of this....
You are Covert and healing in a clinic.
An overt on your side comes in and needs some real wounds healed.
You click on your stim (radial heal, /heal wound) and a window (like the join group window) pops up saying "Would you really like to heal this person? You will incure a TEF for "time" seconds."
You choose yes, and gain the TEF and heal the player.
Once you have the TEF, you no longer get the popup until you become covert again. (This will stop annoying "Would you" popup spam)
This way you know exactly when you become Overt, have a choice to stop it, and know how long it will last.
In a hostile environment i.e. Anchorhead under attack. You can ask the fighter to guard you or escort you to the recruiter to go covert, after you have healed them.
Sooo whats everyone think of this?
It's a pretty good idea. At least you know what your getting into unlike most medics that get an unexpected TEF and don't even have a gun.
Another possable idea would be to make it so that a covert imperial for example can easily tell who else are covert imperials around them. A possable way to do this would be as follows:
1) Overt character tags are always visable and are white
2) Covert characters have red tags that only fellow covert and overt characters can see
This would make it easier to identify your faction and give you a better idea if you should heal the fellow overt. I'd hate to be the one to heal him and suddenly the rest of the room goes hostile. Doing it this way you at least have some idea of the possable threat at hand. Any comments or better suggestions are welcome as I'm shure many healers would like to see this problem fixed in the future ![]()
Oh, it's at #6. A new list and voting will likely begin on Monday or Tuesday (depending on when we can see what our response is from the first set of Issues was). We have some new things from the publish and some things that will be annotated as fixed, but I'd still like to annotate what our response from the Devs is regarding that first set of issues we sent in.
there are a ton of TEF buggs still. I have been able to attack another rebel healer who healed a COVERT Imperial, and have been agroable by a pets owner after healing their pet.
Oh just great... I knew there would be a few TEF bugs as a factioned player...but having it effect neutrals? That's just idiotic.
Figures I'd pick NOW to go and declare a faction... ![]()
hehehe i stay Overt in Anchorhead all the time now. Seeing how every Imperial that regularly attacks it know if they attack me while im healing in the Tavern they will leave the fight with only 1 point left in all 9 ham stats =op
i consider it a smack on the wrist =op
hehe yah i knew it was on list, might want to make this a refrence when the devs allow ya to email them again. They might like any idea brought up here.
BTW you've been doing an increadable job so far Zarlor. The information you bring us and the frequency you post is far beyond what is expected and what the other corresponents have been doing. Lol whenever you update the big list i grab a cup of coffie and great ready for some intence ready. Keep up the great work.
lol now if we can get Elanora(sp) as the CM Correspondent =op
Wait...you are neutral, and you gained a TEF from healing a covert player who had been incapped?
I thought the system would immediately stop a neutral from healing a factioned player that was Overt?
If a covert player is under a TEF, and thus attackable by the opposing faction, wouldn't that then make that player temporarily Overt and thus make you(a neutral) unable to heal them? Shouldn't it be giving you the 'It would be unwise to help this player' message?
