Thread: Major Factory Fix
Please notethis good informationcame from Eponi and Renairdor of Naritus, i'm merely reposting it after doing my own tests. This is a 2 part post, 1st part is to get factories to pull from crates, 2nd part is to fix bugged factories that won't build ANYTHING
Getting factories to reliably pull from crates.
1) Empty the input/output hoppers totally. House them or do whatever.
2) Stick 25 credits maintence and 50 power into the factory (1 cycle) regardless of what's in there currently.
3) Load your schematic
4) Open up the schematic ingredients required list.
5) Load the resources in the order the factory has them (This should be the organics/inorganics first)
6) When you get to an item in the list that requests a crate, do the following...
6a) Pull 6 items from component crate
6b) Load 6 items into the hopper
6c) Load the crate
6d) Repeat these steps for EACH crate you put in.
6e) Do not let the input hopper become full (100/100), leave it at 99/100 max.
7) Stick a resource that is not called by the schematic at ALL into the last slot of the ingredient hopper (100/100 if you followed 6e)
8) Start production

Fixing factories that won't build ANYTHING
This order assumes you are building components.
1) Unload all input/output hoppers.
2) Unload schematic
3) Stick 25 credits maintence and 50 power into the factory (1 cycle) regardless of what's in there currently.
4) Reload schematic
5) Load ingredients in the order they are listed on the ingredients list the factory gives.
6) Load a resource in the last slot that is not called on at all by the schematic.
7) Start production

These steps above have been tested on the new patch and hopefully they will work for you as well. They worked for me and i've never been able to get a factory to reliably pull from a crate.
Thanks for the info, using this method, I was able to start production on some BECs. Successfully made 4, we'll see how far it goes before crapping out on me.

Awww Shucks. I read the subject of this thread and thought the devs had actually FIXED factories lol. This isn't a fix - this is a work-around for broken factories lol. Still handy to know though.
I wish the devs would actually *FIX* factories so you didn't have to resort to this sort of voodoo-magic to get them to work.
The factories are bugged... only thing I heard last night, that after 100 run, it won't produce anything until redeeded. Not worth it for me to do that for 100, so I'll wait till they fix it. Hopefully I don't go broke while they take their time.

I had that, Iended uphighlighting another schematic from my datapad and then when I clicked "Remove" it swapped that one for the one in the factory, lol. I couldn't simply remove the existing schematic. Yay!
Did this, on chilastra, and it actually, finally, worked! I managed to get the blasted factory to pull from crates!

mine was working yesterday - I made 550 adv liq suspensions. Then, I went to try and make CR's and nothing works. I too cannot remove the schematic to try the above fix.

Talk about flaky, my factory made 100 BECs at lunch today and when I got home from work and unpacked enough components for 23 Stm Ds it decided it didn't want to make anything else today. ![]()
