Thread: Doc buffs help cause bigger wounds?

Let me state that I'm a Master Doc/MCM. My character has Adv Composite pants, vest and helmet (47%+ resists to almost all dmg).

I will completely heal all wounds before buffing using mediocre Enhancement D packs (around 780ish effectiveness).

My 'problem' lies in the fact that it seems almost ANY hit I take from ANY mob will give me about a 20 point wound to various pools. I let my 3 pet Swamp Troopers, my probot and my Cowardly Gurreck engage the mobs and I take pot shots at them with my Pistol IV skills using a scout blaster. Occasionally I'll draw agro and get hit once or twice before I move out of range and command my pets to attack. It doesn't matter if its a paralope, a vynock, a dalyrake or even a Rebel NPC Commando but almost every hit gives me a 20+ point wound. It is nothing to me to rack up over 100 points in wounds to Health, Str AND Stamina in just 2 or 3 fights. Doesn't that seem a little excessive? If I weren't buffed I may have like 5 or 7 point wounds.

I'm assuming wounds are percentage based (1% of a 900 Health pool would be alot less than a 1% 2900 Health pool). Is this normal or even necessary? It seems a little unfair to docs that the better we are at buffing the more damage we cause buff recipients. I guess it can be a bit of a non-issue since we can heal ourselves, but (1) I'd prefer not to be spammed with multiple requests to heal someone's 40-300 point wounds across multiple stats and (2) I'd prefer to not have to keep so much medicine on me (min. 6 buff packs, 6-12 wound packs (medium and/or strong ones), revive kits, Cure State packs, factory crates of componants 'just in case' I run out in the field, Cure disease packs, cure poison packs, perhaps the factory crates each of the above comes out of and that's not even including my Combat Medic stuff and/or anything like an extra weapon, armor, deeds, or resources.

Eh, just a long, convoluted semi-rant about giving myself more downtime just because I'm halfway efficient at my job (buffing).. (Would Master Dancers appreciate it if dancing caused them mind wounds?)

Uh, so WE don't want it, and YOU don't want it in for PvP--then why is it still there??

Is your Battle Fatigue really really high? if so, that is why you will get higher wounds. It has nothing to do with doctor buffs.

It usually gets to around 100-140 or so in the course of a few nights.. I'm not sure if that's "high" or not since I often see people with BFs of 200-300+..

Yes buffing can cause you to get more wounds. Then you die and you are permanently incapped sometimes and have to get a csr to revive you or someone to drag you from the clonecenter so someone can heal you enough to stand up. I buffed to 3k ham from 400 base and was dueling my commando friend. I was playing around with cm and kept poisoning him and laughing while running away on fire. Then the next duel he got his panther out (which I cant outrun) and I died. Permanent incap sucks.

I thought they said they fixed the permanent incap last patch...

Anyway. in my experience, when you're buffed you just don't notice the wounds (especially since you can't see all of your health bar). Once you finally stop to take a look its a big shock.

I'm a certified warrior on Kauri. My best RL friend is a Master Doctor. When he buffs me and I go hunting, I take a LOT more wounds than if I had not been buffed and had gone hunting the same stuff. It's a fact. You will take more wounds if you fight while buffed.
