Greetings.. just a quick newbie question for you experienced doctors:

I'm currently trying my hand at making some Wound E packs, and it says I need Biological Effect Controllers from a factory crate. My question: Can I use Advanced Biological Effect Controllers for a better pack?

Thanks!

Oh yes, you can. All of the "advanced" components are still the same item...just higher quality. Advanced BEC is still a BEC...and will go into any BEC slot in a schematic.

Always use advanced stuff, you won't regret it. Good luck!

Wait! Stop right there. Just to save you some expense I would suggest experimenting with regular and advanced when making meds until you figure out which is best. There are times when using an Advanced version of the sub component needed will give no extra benifit. Sometimes you can use the regular ones and get the same results as the advanced.

I don't know which these are off hand, but I have a guildie experiementing with diffrent items and making a list. If you use Advance for everything then you may just end up wasting resourses, because you could have gotten away with using the regular versions.

Thanks for the tip. I asked the question after I had already bought the resources for regular components, and made my Wound E sets.

After experimentation, I came out with 300 base power, 50 charges. I'm a master doc, and the med use was 84 or so. I was pleased, given that I used components that cost me less than 20k total, for 20 wound packs.

I tested them out on a fella with 1000 wounds, and healed 750 in one shot. Works for me!

What about Advanced components on Buff Packs? My next project is gathering up the best resources I can find for 10 of each of the 6 buff packs. (60 total). So far so good. For anyone who's curious about the calculations I'm using, I keep a little file on my desktop:

Goal: 10 of each pack, 6 packs total = 60 packs.

########## Buff Pack #############

22 (28) x Avian Meat: 900+ Potential Energy, 900+ Decay Resistance [Goal Amount: 1500]

22 (28) x Reactive Gas: 900+ Potential Energy, 900+ Decay Resistance [Goal Amount: 1500]

########## 3xBio Effect Controller #############

54 x Tatooinian Fiberplast: 900+ Unit Toughness [Goal Amount: 3300]

54 x Lokian Wild Wheat: 900+ Overall Quality [Goal Amount: 3300] ==DONE==

########## 2x Chem Release Mech. #############

32 x Herbivore Meat: 900+ Potential Energy [Goal Amount: 2000]

32 x Class 4 Liquid Petro Fuel: 900+ Potential Energy [Goal Amount: 2000]

########## Solid Delivery Shell #############

16 x Domesticated Oats: 900+ Potential Energy [Goal Amount: 1000] ==DONE==

lol, I didn't use liquid 4 or herb meat on the wound packs, I used normal components that I got from the bazaar. That list I posted is for my next project, Buff Packs. I'm on Chilastra, and right now we've got a great spawn of avian meat on Lok, stats: 988 OQ, 705 PE, 844 DR. So I'm gathering that up, at the moment.
