Have you guys seen these docs? You pay to get inside their structure. When you get inside you invite them and then they auto buff you. Its some macro. I personally don't like this I think it takes away from the profession. I've seen two on my server is this just my server or are people doing this on other servers?

Buff-bots are very common, i dont really mind them as long as i get buffed.

This sounds interesting...any idea what the macro looks like? Haven't seen this at all on Sunrunner.

I prefer to go to actual doctors and not buff bots, but sometimes, I'm on and no doctors are buffing, so I have a buff-bot I use to fall back on. And let me tell you, I HATE having to do it. There's just something about knowing you're dealing with a real person that makes a buff better (regardless of buff strength and all that). Maybe I should start tipping 2k in addition to whatever they're charging, just as a way to say thanks for actually being there. Hmmm...that's a REALLY good idea

I don't afk buffers... The only thing that bothers me is that sooner or later some guy will just invite them over and over and waste all their buff packs just for the entry fee... and they won't be able to complain about it.

Nothing offends me more in this game that those AFK buff bots....Basicly what it says to me is...i pay 15 bucks a month to play a game i dont even Want to play.

This offends me and some entertainers becuse the fact is...they are demeinstrating to me that my profession is no more worthwhile than a spaming zombie...

It pains me very much...

If you do the macro right, that wont happen, if you use /enhanceheal and not /enhanceheal "spacific stat" then it wont over ride the buff. So the person would have to sit there till there buff wore off before they could get another one.

What's the difference between doing this and hiring someone to put and afk, auto assist combat spamming macro on you.

/pause

/assist

/spinattack

etc.

Personally I don't care, I see them preforming a service. The server is greater if you don't play primetime or your on a small server. Of course, there is also the perk of not waiting in line for 30 mins to get a buff.

It's good to know I can get buffed, without waiting 30 mins in line.

Being a MD and buffer, I really don't have a problem with the afk buffers. They do come in handy in the middle of the night when buffing doctors are few and far between. Besides, thier buffs will never be as good as mine because I get the bonus for my +110 droid. Their droids run out of power and they quickly lose the bonus. So it really doesn't bother me. People will notice the difference in buffs and will seek out the people actually active on-line.

I think pub 9 will break the buffbots. The buffbot depends on targeting the house when no one is grouped, so the buffs do not get wasted. Pub 9 or maybe it was 10, states that when docs try to heal an invalid object, like say when you need to heal yourself, but have a corpse targeted you will not heal. With the publish if you try to heal and have something invalid targeted you will heal yourself.

If they extended that code to buffing as well, and I think the code will effect buffing, the buffbots will buff themselfs over and over and over wasting the packs.
