so let's try this again

What's a good % for a water source? I thought I remember reading somewhere that it's rare to find water above 60%, but maybe I was imagining things.

The key isn't the percentage, the key is finding water with high OQ...I assume you're wanting to use it for liquid suspensions and such? Just remember, meds are 66% OQ and 33% PE for their power.

Oh yes, this I know. Thanks for the info, though. I'm not just looking for this stuff for my own use, I also intend to sell it, so yield is very important to me. What I really want to know is, when I'm searching for a spot to put down my Vaporators, and I come across a 55% spot, for instance, is it worth the trouble looking for a higher % yield, or would I be wasting my time because that's about the best I'm gonna do.

If it were steel, radio, or flora, I would definitely look for a better spot. I usually won't drop a harvester on anything less than 70%, unless I'm totally fed up with surveying. But I noticed that the water spots look different -- they are more spread out and run together, as opposed to the steeper gradients and seemingly higher peaks for other resources. After about an hour of searching outside Dearic, 55% was the highest I could get, and the spot ran together with another 55% spot centered right in Dearic.

I would say that 50-70% would be average. Difficult to find higher than 70%

They do exist. .the 70%+ spots... rare rare...

I got a 97% spot of a good Talus water On Chilastra a few months ago.... but it was in town (dearic) /cry... hand sampled the hell out of it... heh

Oh yes -- I hand sample like a fiend -- I havea macro that does it while I sleep and while I'm at work.

Last night I hand sampled over 1700 units from a 55% spot, while my personal vaporator only got about 300.

The best way to handle water due to its low % rate is find a good spawn of talus water and only harvest it for a week. That means use every avaliable lot space you have to harvest it. On a 50% spot this will give you about 80-100k of water by weeks end. That should be enough water to last you for a good while. Then you can forget about water for awhile. Trick is to wait till is spawns a good 900+ quality water before you do this.

And just because you have that much doesn't mean ingnore any other spawns in the future if one comes in higher then what you have get that as well. I made this mistake by missing a slightly better spawn of fiberplast as I had 25-30k of the previous spawn. Well 4 spawns later we get a decent quality spawn of fiber finally. The last 4 where 100 quality or lower. And I ran out. OPPS! Will never let that happen again.

Ah, yes...50-70% are decent percentages for water.

If you want to make really good money and make friends with doctors, harvest Talusian water. If it is >800 quality, you should be able to get good credits for it.

Much like Solar and Wind locations, water over 50% is what I would consider choice. I don't look any harder if I can find one at that level.
