Thread: Is my droid broken or have we been nerfed?

I've been finding that I can't heal outdoors anymore with my droid (110% med., crafting station), at least in the cities and waiting in the starport. I don't think it's a power issue because I just recharged it. I don't know if it's a customization issue (since it's completely faded away). This started after the patch. Is my droid on the fritz, are we borked, or have they intentionally taken the "Field" out of "Field Surgeon"? Also, is anyone else reporting this problem?

numerous docs have had this problem since the patch. Yours is the first post I've seen where recharging the droid didn't fix the problem.

It wasn't a nerf because its totally unpredictable.

In my experience, it is usually power. for soem reason, the batteries are only lasting about a half hour. /sigh

Sometimes, I just have to put it away and recall it.

You most likely need batteries. After the "big patch" droids are using a lot more power and need to be recharge very frequently (once every 20 min it seems like ). Your local artisan can make droid batteries; I recommend carrying a crate around with you until it is fixed. I have posted this on the DE forum, but I do not believe it is a recognized, documented, or listed bug for them yet. In fact some are happy for the battery sales

Since the last patch i have been going through batteries like mad.

Every time I pull a droid out of the datpad, he complains *low power* at the first command. It's as if the battery level is being reset when the droid is stored, or they are continuing to use up juice while on the datapad.

Fortunately I have artisan friends who keep me supplied with crates of batteries, but it *is* annoying that i have to power a droid back up nearly every time i call him..

Something was changed/broken/nerfed etc, my droids have an unsatiable appetite for more copper-tops. =)

Droids used to get recharged when stored in the datapad. That doesn't appear to be the case anymore, although that doesn't explain the original poster's issue as he recharged the droid...

I thought it was just me...now this is my first droid, and I have never charged it, but I thought it would give the "Low Power" message. I have not gotten it. This is an R5 droid with the food/chem, 110 med and Item storage...Ill try the battery thing...

I don't think they actually say *Low Power* until you issue them a direct command. So if you just pull out your droid and it follows you around like normal, it won't ever tell you it needs power.

No, this is a bug. I get the same error message a lot, but storing and calling the droid typically fixes the issue.

And for the love of all things holy people... stop using "nerf" to describe every little change or bug in the game. Something isn't working, that's a bug. Unless it's drastically and noticeable different than how it was before, it's just a change. Sorry for the soapbox... but nerf is becoming more popular than "the" in these forums.

Back yet again, for another round of SWG... um... fun. Yeah, that's it. (It's not just a diversion while I wait in the queues for WoW BG's)

I can't even call my droid -- is that part of the same bug?

Im having the same problem with my surgical droid. Recalled twice and didn't fix it. I think this must be a bug as there was no warning about it-although the devs havnt shrinked from a stealth nerf I think they would tell us when changing game mechanics.

Wow. So it isn't just me. Anyway, I have an update:

Turns out that the issue was *low power*. I guess when I said "just recharged" it, it must have been about a couple of hours, and I don't usually command my droid to do anything (as it already just follows me around, not needing to do anything else). Lo and behold, when I gave my droid a command, *low power*, so I recharged it an immediately went outside my shop to test it out. It worked just as it always has.

In short, looks like droids areguzzling batteries like a Hummer guzzles gas. Luckily, I have some artisan skills and can make my own batteries.

Who knew an R2 could be so greedy?
