Thread: An alternative use for medical experience points
I no longer get medical experience points because I have mastered all the medical skill boxes for Doc and Cambat Medic.
I want to be able to spend some of my extra medical experience points to add extra experimentation points to my total. These would be single-use experimentation points. For example, let me spend 5,000 medical experience points to add a one-time extra experimentation point to my total, or 10,000 for two experimentation points.
This would give us the option of making a few nice factory schematics once and a while. It would also produce a continuing need for medical experience points.

Wouldn't this make some master doctors TOO powerful? They would be able to experiment things to a huge extreme eventually.
Don't get me wrong... I'd love to be able to spend those extra points on something. I just can't see the powers that be approving this.
Well, Med XP does cap at 80,000XP. You just can't go any higher than that. Med Crafting tapes can add directly to your skill as well (I know of at least 1 CM who has a +20-something tape and he's working with 12 EPs on CM items.) So the most you could get extra at one time at a 10k/1 ratio would be 8EPs. You could consider dropping that out to a higher ration. 20k/1 would be a max of 4 EPs, 40k/1 would be 2 and anything higher than that would be 1 EP with varying degrees (up to 80k) of how much more XP would be needed before you could get a chance for having that 1 EP again.
I don't think tht would really be too powerful, but maybe it would be batter to put the max in the 2-4EP range instead of the 8.
NasrikSnar, since the "bought" experimentation points would be used up when you experimented, there would be a limit to the number of extra experimentation points you would have available at any one time. Yet you could really enhance a specific schematic once and a while.
This adds a little strategy to the crafting end of the business.

Actually i guess it would be more appropriate to use Crafting XP for this instead. I would also suggest that this might be useful for all crafting professions in that respect. Possibly a Master-level only ability.
I think we should be able to use them to "buy" limited-use schematics for things like Enhance Pack Es or special clothing items,droids, armor, etc. (or specs that require a master crafter to complete) from the Doctor Trainers.

10k exp for an experiment points isn't even close to a good idea.
Maybe 1 million exp for 1 point. Do you know how fast you could get exp if you really wanted?
I agree we need some further form of char advancement, but it needs to be SUPER slow and make hardly any difference, otherwise you just make it a further grind becuase everyone sees it as necessary.

Huh? The cap is 80k. I guess if you're talking about continually adding to a pool to get a PERMANENT +1 to experimentation, 1 million is reasonable. His suggestion was a one-time only bonus to EP for 10k.
Allow it for crafting experience points only. Medical Experience points are way too easy to get. And you would be using it during crafting. Crafting exp needed for crafting"bonus". Also expand it to all crafters,It would work for any type of crafting profession. Imagine the weapon that could be created using 8 extra exp points.
Maybe use the other points to double an action. 10k exp would allow you to do a single action for twice it's normal strength. Buffs 2 times as much, heals 2x as strong. It could also workfor other professions. 10k would allow you to do a headshot for 2x the damage.
