Thread: Experimentation on Advanced Biological Effect Controlers
Does experimenting on these for power help much in the final product? Or should I be spending more of my experimentation points on Charges?
Anyone know what the tradeoffs are?
The tradeoffs are pretty simple, if you experiment for charges, you'll havea final product with more charges and less power and vice versa.
I always experiment these for charges first and, once I've maxed that out, I'll turn to power. Just look at the stats - a very good advanced BEC will only have 15-20 power at most. I poor liquid suspension will have 120 power and advanced chems and SDS's come in around 40 or 50. Simply put, an advanced BEC isn't going to add much to your final power value, even if you experiment on power. Experiment on charges and leave the power for the other components - that's my strategy.
The few points of power difference in the final product doesn't match up to the more uses one can get.
I once did a test:
I made 2 B-stims with all the same resources and manufactured components. I crafted the BECs manually. For one I used all my exp points for charges and for the other I put them all into power.
The final product had a 4 point power difference. One had 28 uses, the other had 32 uses. I preffer 32 uses
- Yep, charges first, power last.

Note... I put my points into power for my Enhance packs. Getting 35 charges base to start seems adequate.
But lately I have been on a mission to find Janta blood. I found a set of 6 jar's 100 power 10 charges. Can be used as a Bioeffect Controller.
I have a health Enh pack d that does 889? (or thereabouts I could be off by 10 points). This has the potential to give you 3k buffs. BUT you must also be aware that the charges on the dropped components DO NOT STACK, therefore my Enh pack created had 17 charges at start. Unlike the normal Adv Bio Controllers.
Thinking back making an Health Enh pack was probably not a good Idea. I SHOULD have made a set of sub stat buffs. Hmmm 4k Stamina/Str/quick/con ... Could be interesting.
Janta are found on Dant. Be sure you have a team with you... they hit like TKM's. I have seen a 2800 point action bleed. Just plain nasty.
As and added note they also drop Janta hide as well. This can be added to armor for those who are interested.
Disregard my sig file. My 2nd acct is a Master Doc.
I've been killing Janta for the last week after I heard about the blood, but have yet to get any loot (after about 40 kills). What type of janta did you find it on, was it a specific one? Like Janta Harvester, or Janta Tribesman, Janta Herbalist?
In regards to the original post, I exp on charges all the way, and then power. People appreciate stim b's with 40 charges rather than 30. Some people purposely dont experiment charges, so that their customers have to buy more frequently. Except you can sell a 40 charge stim b for a lot more than a lesser charge stim, and it means you have to make less items. Both a plus for me, I hate the continual crafting. I'd rather make 300 stims, and make the same amount of money as I would with 400 lesser charge stims. ![]()
