Which explains why the Supreme Court is seriously considering taking "one nation under God" out of the pledge of allegience. If they do that, I, personally will no longer be standing for the Star Spangled Banner.

How sad. So you are only for the nation if it believes in your god? Yep that sounds like"no law respecting an establishment of religion" </sarcasm> (wondering how many posts this this one gets locked)

My country was formed as a Christian country. If it ceases to be a Christian country, I lose respect for it, and its leaders. I will not move, I will not violate its laws, but I will no longer be proud of it.

Graeme the contry was formed, in a sense, to avoid the overbearingness of the catholic church. Giving religious freedom. The country was formed for the follwing reasons, gold, glory, God. Not My gold My Glory My God. America is a country granting freedom to practice any religion, or no religion, and it promises to not impose religion upon anyone. However, I sound as though I am disagreeing with you, I'm not. 'Under one God' should be there, but this forum isn't the place for a theological discussion.

It never would have been if it were not for the Jesus joke. If he had picked another religious leader to poke fun at, he would have to worry about waking up in the morning. He is just lucky that Christians are so forgiving.

I agree, this is probably not the time or place to go in to this, so I will shut up now :>
