What harvester will I need to buy to harvest berries, fruits, oats, etc. Any and all input would be greatly appreciated.

You will need to buy a flora harvester. Just like any other harvester there are 3 different types:
Personal Flora (Base Extraction Rate (BER) 4)
Automated Flora Farm (BER 7-10)
High Capacity Flora Farm (~BER 12)
The farms with higher BER will pull in the flora faster and also have a higher capacity hopper....but they also cost more to buy and maintain.

Don't bother about the personal ones if you want to harvest a decent quantity of resources. I tend to use only heavies if I have enough of them available and mediums when not.

Medium 10BER Floras will get you the most for your money, but Heavy 13BER will get you the most for your lots. Personals are more of a throw away/test the ground kinda thing.

Now, now.... Personals do have their place.
Ever find that really high percent of something up in the mountains, and you just dont have the time to track it anymore?
drop a few personals...
you just found that awesome resource, 2 days after everyone else did and the closest you can place to the 80% spot with a medium or heavy reduces your percentage to 40%? sneak a few personals in near the high concentration, cause we all know that everyone else cannot place their harvesters tightly together to leave room for the next guy. (exaggeration)
