I was wondering how profitable being a doctor is. I'm looking at master doctor master swordsman, so i can kick ass in pve with swordsman, and then when im afk, I can be buffing in dantooine. How much money do you guys make roughly per hour? I always see people getting buffed on dantooine, so i figure i could run an afk macro program like ever hour that im not at the computer and make alot of money for no work. Is this a good assumption or am I just dreaming?

It is less profitable than you would think. A set of 5 crates of buffs costs 600-900k, plus Bivoli (about 60-80k). That is about 31x5, or 155 sets of buffs, which (charging 10k) calculates into 1.55mil creds. Take out your initial fees and you are just about doubling your money. When you compare how long it takes to actually make this amount of money compared to hunting its not alot. However it is alot more rewarding than killing bajillions of Jantas lol.

there is more to it then that, especialy when getting started, 40k for a droid, then droid batteries (unless u are in a hosptial, then u have maintenence) then bivoli and cloths, then packs, then u have to make sure there are no overts... and if u are inside a hospital it makes u a perfect target, u get warped outside, because of the TEF and an opposing overt comes by and u loose FP, and your stuff decays, then ur droid gets blown and there is another 40kfor another droid, u have to be really carefull... we really don make as much as u would think, and when people come by and whine.... u charge too much, how am i suposta afford that... u make 400k on janta missions, i make 2k on u shut up, thats my standard responce, and its true, and out of that 2k 500 goes to savings (minumum) 1k usualy goes to "loans" that will never get repayed and 500 goes to maintenence on my house
so hehe, i make almost nothin, and i buff guildies free

AFK buffing can be profitable, but it can also be a hassle. You will need your own medical center to do it effectively as there is no way of getting around the droid battery issue (that I know of).
Of course, you could always auto-buff people on the honor system in a public medical center (as I have done a few times). That way, you don't need a droid or the maintenance on the building. Of course, you will get stiffed by a few people (less than I thought though).
I have seen as many as 30 patients in an evening AFKbuffing session in the Theed medical center. At 6K per buff, that doesn't even get to 200K revenue so you aren't going to get rich doing it, but you make even less by not providing the AFK buff service...

The only reason I'm making any kind of profit is because a guildie cut me a real good deal on packs.

Look at it like this.
Make your own packs=Long-term profit
Buy your own packs=Small, quick profit.

I'm just starting to *try* and make my own packs and I give all you crafting doctors a TON of credit! It's a real pain cause Dolovite and Class 4 don't spawn, and the Avian and Herbivore meats are really expensive.

Malakah, once you are at it for a while, the resources will begin to stockpile....and then *fast forwards a few months* "Oh, i've got so much resource I don't even know what to do with it"
