Hello Everyone.
I just wanted to make a quick post as a new blue name.
My SWG background
I started the game back in the fall of '03. My goal was to be a BH so I picked up scout, marksman, and medic. Then I found that I really liked playing the healer role. So as I started running out of skill points I had to give up on BH. I found that adding CH to my template was a great help in group hunting. I would sent in my pets to tank and then run around and heal. This was great until solo groups and CH nerf came around. So after a time I droped CH and picked up TK. After a while this got a bit boring so I dropped TK and picked up CM. I have been a doc/cm for about 6 months or so.
I have run a med business to some degree since I first picked up medic. Selling stims on the bazaar to pay for more resouces. Then I would sell crates of stims while I buffed for cash. Buffs were random back then and you did not have the timer window. Boy could you catch an ear full from someone who got an low role. I think half the threads on this forum were about how hard it was to be a doc due to the negative attitude of our customers.
Since then doc has only seen positive changes. With each change the doc prof became better and better. Fire blankets, area cures, etc. Each added to the various facets of our prof.
Now we are faced with the first real change that impacts the very core of our prof. While at the same time the CU promises to bring our healing to a long forgoten need in the field it also lops offthe crafting side that many have grown to love.
This is a great time to be a doc. It is also a horible time.
In RL I am a PhD engineer who works in the micro-electronics industry (ya, supper nerd). I am faced with change all the time. I workwith a bunch of ego filled, opinionated, stuburn, to smart for their own good, kinda people.Where I work you can not be a sheep. You have to stand up for your ideas and make people see your views. I love it.
My goal as the DoctorCorrispondent is to reflect your views on the prof as best as I can.
Here is what I need from you. Be vocal. Be passionate. Never say you dont care.

hehe, tbh i think once the bio eng tree can be tested people wont mind so much about the changes, i genuinly hve faith in the CU for Doctors and Crafting Doc's Alike, so lets all see how it goes from there.

Can ya give us a feel for how you see the changes put before us? And how you personally feel on the role changes and a couple opinions on hot issues you see here?
I know you are our voice but I know you have a voice too and while submitting our top issues you are asked for your own personal issues as well. (Or they have asked in the past anyway, I'm not sure if it's standard practice.)

Congrats Marrow1. I look forward to your insites
I to have been a doctor since June of 03, and been that way ever since, HOWEVER after playing with the CU on the test center, I belive that the if the CU goes live as is, the 2 year Legiecy of Master Doctor / Master Combat medic Pasqual Epsilon on the Ahasi server will come to an end. I feel reduced to a tagalog. I am not a member of the team, I am just in the way. I still have no combat skills, my healing skills are reduced by 1/3 of what I can do currently, witch is almost as good as they can do by themselves. If thisis an upgrade, then I must be mistaken somewhere. I am tramatized over what I have experanced.A doctor does not belong out in the field, not in realty or in a game, however I am starting tofeel thatI am the only one who feels that way. I don't like be forced into combat. I chose to be a doc to help others, make contrubtions to the rebal cause, and be of assistance to my friends in large raids.Their is no longer a reasion for you to seek out better materals,it doesn't make you more effective. All doctors are now all the same, there is no diffrence between their healing abilities as there is currently, by the amount of care that the doctor put into his meds. I like the fact that there is weak stimpacks that anyone can use, however, it should not repleace combat medics in the field. A master doctor should NOT have armor or pistolcerts,DOCS ARE NON-COMBATANTS.IT's A COMBAT MEDIC's (hence the COMBAT in the title) to be in the combat situations, carry pistols, wear armor, and heal in combat. Docs should be in the hospetals healing wounds, installing implants (yes maybe even cybornetics), and doing plastic surgery (sorry image designers, I really think that your profession should go away and become part of doctor). The diffrence between a doctor and combat medics have become trivial, expeacly now that medics can do ranged heals. I can not stress enough how bad I feel the CU has destroyed the medical profession. I could go on for another 30 mins of reading over my complaints about the medical field CU problems I have, but I will stop here and if you would like to hear more feel free to send me a private message and I will respond as soon as I can.

Im looking forward to these changes. I must say on my first look through the system yesterday I was quite impressed, I'm still not sold on the "magic" healing but I am coming around. Only manged to get one box in Medic last night when I was on so havent been able to test much more than bacta shotting people who are incapped. Also I havent done the math yet but with dropping master medic I wonder if it is possible to 2 or 3 boxes of bio engineer crafting with Master Doc/CM. It would also be valuable on base raids since BE's are needed to take down bases. Might bring a new aspect of game play for us. Anyways looking forward to you representing us under these new changes.

I love your post. It contained all of the factores which makes for great reading.
1. Showed your passion for the prof.
2. Gave clear examples of the issues you are having with the changes.
3. Gave suggestions
I agree that the roles between CM and Doc have never been all that clear cut and in the new system the may get mixed together even more. I believe that this will be a very interesting part of the testing of the CU. Dabling in one or the other prof to make one supper healer prof at the minimal amount of skill point costs will be something I hope to play with a great deal.
While we are still in Beta this is a great time to push for moving were in the skill tree abilities are granted. You mentioned ranged heals as part of medic. Once you have had the chance to test how well ranged heals work as an elite master it we may find that we need to move that skill.
Please bank away at things you see as being issues in the CU and test them out. I will be making some focus thread this weekend for folks to disclose what that learn about different topics. Ranged healing as a doc will be one of them I am sure.
