Thread: Group healing Doc/CM

Ok, I'm sick and tired of people saying in these post's "In the current game a doc/cm is useless to go out and be a group healer." "The new system is great, it lets me do this again." Yap Yap Yap... If you fall into this catagory, Log into Starsider, I'll form a group where I'll take my Master Cm/Doc with zero, count em zero combat skills and go to the DWB and show you how useful he is to the group. If the DWB is too aggressive for you then we can go do Nightsister's. If that too aggressive we will go kill Krayt's. If thats to aggressive we can go to the Geo cave... If you arent playing with people that want to tackle the "harder" content in the game then come to Starsider and join my guild. We are always looking to form up in groups and tackle the high-end content the game has to offer.

I think that if more parts of the game were like the DWB then there were be fewer making such claims. However, in the current live game there simply are only a few DWBesk place. In fact I would say the DWB, Vette, a NS elder with a stun batton, an achient krayt, DMJ and maybe one or two theres are the only few things that provide a need for a group to PvE. Not a very long list.


I think one of the goals of the CU was to make a higher % of the game fall into this area. Personally, I think they could have just tweaked up the dps of mobs, lowered armor/buffs, and added mind healing to stims and called it a day.

I'm right there with you 100% Do those things and add a few more dungeons and we could call it good enough. Instead the spend time making flashy graphics and so forth.


If current weapon speed caps were modified to realistic numbers/buffs reduced but still significant/armor resistances lowered, even dropping armors from having all resistances on a piece to give variaty to combinations would have solved many of the problems in my eyes.

And left combat as the spam-fest that it is now? Leave professions that currently have no role in combat as-is?

modifying speed caps to realistic values would reduce Spam-Fest's.

Spam fest is a result of Str, Quick, and focus being way to high which results in the cost of specials going to 0. By lowering the buff to these pools then one would have to think about a spacial before using it. Enc from armor was supposed to make one think about which armor to use depending what kind of weapon/special one was using. The crazy high buffs however resulted in all of that going out the window.


As already pointed out, tweaking the spead mods on weapons would also be needed so that everyone and there brother is not a speed caped swordman.


Please dont take my flipant one sentance remark as a full analysist of the issues. It was ment to be sarcasm in that the revamp could have been mush simpler than it has turned out to be.


Also, rember what is the difference between a special and a non special?A special allows you to select a damagetype/power but at a cost (time delay,self damage, etc). I do not mind if all attacks are specials as long as long as all of the costsare significant enough to make one think.

I think that it was necessary to go through the full revamp. I agree that nerfing buffs would help a good deal, but adjusting weapon speeds is not enough. Why be a pistoleer when you can be a rifleman? Or a fencer when you can be a TKM or 2h swords? The professions did not have well defined roles in combat; the combat revamp as we see now gives professions roles.

i havent known ppl to say the doc/cmis useless to a group. i have heard the opposite many times infact.he is too dependent on a group.
