Thread: MOney making prof even after CU???
The schematics found in the Medic tree in the CU testing have IDENTICAL resource requirements of the current items. Would make a whole lot of sense for the enhancer packs to be based upon the same resources as well.
now:
1. AS
2. chef
3. doc
4. architect
5. WS (although if you slice your weapons you can easly hit number 1 on ur server)
6. BE
7. tailor
CU:
1. BE - these guys are going to be ruling the market
2. AS (for the first few months as everyone wants armor, IMO it would be best for THEM to come out with semi crappy armor at the beginning, people will pay. then make uber armor and make double the money if you just give out the good stuff right away)
3. Chef (which will take place as number 1)
4. WS
5. architect
6. tailor
7. doc (yes thats right, tailors will have more money then j00 docs

Non-crafting docs will have the same earning potential as any other elite combat profession character. They will get the same cut from missions and loot and get the same experience while leveling. Doctors might make find a niche selling their buffs, but I doubt they'll make much money this way since BE's will undoubtedly charge a decent price. I predict doc buffs will be a benefit for groups and guilds, not a service sold to the public.
Anyone know what that "loot" will be BTW? Here's my thought. You go out as a doc and join a group. You run around and heal, and you take part in the fight. You're duking it out with the crowd and having a good time, keep the tank and others alive. Each kill nets the group of six the traditional 246 credits, which is split six ways. However you're earning money.
Now you finally get to the end and there it is, the master of the cave/dungeon/adventure/whatever. In goes the tank, dukes it out, and BOOM! He's down. Loot time! It's a +25 Med Exp tape! WOO HOO! We rock! We got something good!
So here's what we'll do, the tank says, I'll go on the forums and sell this bad boy. It may take about five days or so but it'll be done. I'll write your names down and after it sells, I'll bank tip you your cut. Sound good?
Except this was a guild hunt, and you the doc was filling in. Five days goes by and no bank tip. You see the item sells on the forums, but you also find you've been added to the ignore list of the tank...
You can imagine the story of course, but the point is, will the "loot" system change to spread the wealth to the group? Will that Krayt Dragon Pearl suddenly be split six ways? Where is the "sharing" in the loot coming from exactly?

That would make me quite enraged. And as one of the leaders of a guild I would make a lot of trouble for that person using the guild's alliances and friends. Anyhow, I always make sure that any group I'm in has either lotto or random turned on for group loot. If I'm not a tank, I make sure I'm still gonna have a chance at the loot.

Those loot changes are very important for the support professions. Squad Leaders, too, face the same problem. Support character, who should be as great in a group as attack character, need the same opportunity to profit for being in the group. It is up to you, as a Doc, to only work for groups that compensate you fairly. Will folks get burned? Yes, but that's true for every profession.
I'm really not familiar with the new "loot master" concept. Does this somehow evenly distribute the loot?
Rehavam wrote:No, we don't. We have to pay rangers and high quality resource miners. Although a lot of money goes through our hands, most of it is reinvested into resources and goes back into the economy. Most crafting doctors - including me - have almost their entire weatlh in resources and not in credits. And thanks to the CU most of these resources will be worth next to nothing now.
That's why I stopped buying meat and invested in resource claim deeds. I am taking the rest of my inventory and cranking it out and selling it off at major discount to get it out of storage get some credits back for it.
