Thread: is there something wrong with med factories?
mine won't make ANYTHING today, I keep getting the message "Your Manufacturing station has run out of componants Dispersal Mechanism. 0 items were made", even though theres a full crate of them in there. any one else having this problem today?
haven't had a single factory problem in a long, long time.
Make sure the crate of components is the same one(or has the same serial number) as the one you used in making the schematic.
Everything you craft has a unique serial number.
If you create components in a factory, say Biological Effect Controllers, and you make say 100 of them, they ALL have the same serial number.
Now say you've run 100 BECs, 100 LSs, and 100 CRDMs and want to make a B-Stim.
Well, in order to use those crates, you have to create a schematic using 1 item from each of those crates. The schematic will then ONLY use components with the same serial numbers.
Using a schematic from a previous run will not work unless the serial numbers on each of the components is the same as the ones listed on the schematic.
--factories do not pull items from crates. so that means you must remove 25 or how ever many you want and place in input of factory. --
Factories do, and have for a LONG time, pulled items from crates- please dont advise if you dont know what you are talking about.
1) Factories pull components from crates just fine! I've been doing it for weeks.
2) As for the issue with the factory not making your stims: As was stated above... every crate has it's own unique serial number (do an 'examine' on the crate and you'll see it). When you make a schematic, you MUST use the same components out of those crates. The best way to ensure you are doing it correctly is to:
- load your schematic
- bring up the menu option "view what components I need for this schematic" (or however that's worded in the menu)
- bring up your factory inventory window
- open up your inventory
- drag the componets into your factory inventory window
- double check the resources and make sure you have the right serial numbered components
- start the factory
I have made the mistake of not paying attention, threw everyting in the factory, started it, took off to another planet... only to get the email "0 items made" only to go back and realize I put the wrong crate in the factory. D'OH! ![]()
Hope that helps!
