Thread: Where to find avian meat
Just go with MC's suggestion and farm Lokian Avian Meat off Perleks on Lok. A) you can get missions for them so they are easy to find and they pay in the 2.6k range. B) The camps respawn about 2-3 times while you are attempting to kill it, so the meat will be most abundant, C) Perleks are easy to kill, they do not swarm (unlike flits) and they are slow so you can out run them if the need be. Good luck.
Indeed, Perleks are the best source of avian meat I've ever found in the game for the reasons mentioned. They're easy to kill. They appear in large groups. They don't attack in packs. And, you can get missions to kill them so you get a little extra cash (although Perlek missions aren't worth much).
However, like I said before - meat shifts. Therefore, it's quite possible that you could kill Perleks all day long and end up with 5k units of horrible quality meat. ![]()
You've gotta look around a bitto find the good stuff. I'd suggest posting this on your galaxy forum and see what the rangers have to say about the matter.
Can anyone recommend a good source for high quality Avian Meat?
Does it come from a particular monster or could high quality stuff come from anything?
Meat shifts just like anything that can be harvested from the ground. Certain creatures will always drop avian meat (Nunas on Tatooine, Perleks and Flits on Lok, Spats on Corellia, to name a few). However, how goodthat meatis will change over time.
However, as far as I know, all meat for a planet will be the same at any given time. So, for example, if I were to harvest avian meat from a Perlek (on Lok) and then from a Flit (also on Lok), I'd get the same avian meat, even though it came from two different creatures. The fact of the matter is that there is only one type of Lokian Avian Meat at a time. However, after some period of time, meat will "shift" and there will be a new type of Lokian Avian Meat. Once that happend, Perleks and Flits will drop some new meat.
So, what gives you good meat? It could be anything? My best recommendation would be to ask some rangers.
