Enhancements lower the damage you take when getting hit (as do food/spices), do these also then reduce the damage that would be taken to your armor as it soaks up damage?

In other words, will my armor's condition go down the same amount if I get hit by something regardless of whether I have enhances/buffs to stats?

They don't lower the damage taken, they increase the HAM and secondary stats

I.e.

Unbuffed HAM:

H: 600

A: 800

M: 1000

BUffed HAM:

H: 3600

A: 3800

M: 1000 (can only be buffed by entertainers, not docs)

Secondaries are also enhanced in the same way, which means you will recover the damage much much faster then when you are unbuffed.

You have one of two misconceptions here

1. You dont understand how the HAM works

or

2. You dont understand how the Buffs work

HAM works like this, to each stat, health/action/mind you have two secondaries. The first secondary is the stat that determins how much damage you take from using specials. The second secondary stat determines how fast your HAM regenerates. Niether stat effects how much damage you take from enemies.

Now, when you get buffed, these pools are increased, thereby causing less damage when you use secondaries, and increasing the natural heal rate. Again, it has no effect on the actual amount of damage you recieve.

Consequently, this would have absoulute noe effect on the condition of your armor.
