OK, I don't want to start another thread about being greedy lol.
But here's my proposed policy for giving buffs. I will not solicit buffs, but will sit in a port (e.g., Mining Outpost) with my Master Doc tag on and droid out. If I receive tells, I will respond with an AFK message saying:
"I am here and will buff for 25K bank tip. Stats are #### for #### hours. I am only buffing as a service to you. If you consider this an excessive price, please do not bank tip. If, however, you would like to pay a fair price for my time and effort (considering I could be running Janta missions for 30K credits each), I would be happy to buff you! In either case, have a great day!"
What do you think?
My alternative is to just shout the following (which someone else has had success with):
"Buffing all stats #### for #### hours. Pay what you think is appropriate - if you are broke, buffs are free. This is an experiment to assist others in the game - if you can afford to pay more, it is greatly appreciated. If average price is too low, this service will not continue. Have a great day!"

For the past few weeks, when I buffI have been asking people to pay what they think the buffs are worth.
The most I have been paid is 50k and the least was 500cr from a newbie. On a widows mite principle that was probably the equivalent to a 100k tip
I average 12k a set
I am making more money than whenI had a set fee of 10k but that isn't the point. I am enjoying buffing because I can sit and chat because I am no longer checking to see if I have been tipped enough, i merely check to see if I have been tipped so I can say thank you.
I don't usually advertise. When I do I have a macro that says: "Buffy Buffy? I buff you loooong time, you liiike" or "Hey meester you wanna buff? I buff you good" or delightful "'Ere, you looking for buffing? Come over 'ere and I'll give you a buffing you won't forget in a hurry".

Interesting Idea Errik, I'll have to try that next time I get in the mood to buff.

THIS is what being a doctor is all about.
You make the game fun.

My buffing policy is very simple. If I'm not sitting down with my droid out, I'm not buffing. If someone send me a /tell asking for a buff, I just say "Sorry, I'm not buffing". When they ask again "Come on, I just need a buff, I'll pay you",I respond with "No, I'm not buffing". Then when they get mad and say "Fine, be a jerk", them and their guild goes on my No Heal list. So when I am buffing the public their entire guild gets nothing.

I hope you at lesat notify the person that their guild is on the no-buff list, that would be the professional thing to do. Otherwise you'd probably get more people mad at you later, and who needs the hassle?
