Thread: Noob Doc with a few questions.

My main questions are about how you get your resources. I understand the crafting process fairly well.
1. I picked up about 1k of avain meat yesterday while traveling around naboo. (Me doing the harv) 967 OQ 737 PE 450 DR
Is that any good? I hear DR adds charges toyour buffs so will this hurt my buffs? (
2. For those of you that harvest your own Meat. How do you get your avian meat. I couldn't pull any Peko missions, or any missions that had creatures that have avian meat. I just had to roam around and find them. I was in a solo group and everything, perhaps I was bugged.
3. Currently I am a MDoc/Mswords/0/0/1/0 scout. Should I be using a harvest droid? What are the benifits of useing said droid?
4. I would also, just like to know how many of you outsource your resource gathering? I dont mind going out and finding good quality Avian or Herb meat, but I haven't been able to find any decent quality of the Mineral resources.

Average in terms of power, but very nice DR, which affects how long the buff lasts, not the charges.

Go to www.swgcreatures.com and www.swgcraft.com to find the best resources available on your server, and what has avian meat so you can hunt it!

Harvesting droids give you a bonus to your harvesting skill... It's not a lot, unless you're collecting many thousands of units, then it all adds up.

Dolovite Iron can be rare, but other than that, I do all my own resource gathering. It took me just over 6 months to getthe uber supply of HQ resource that I currently have.

I understand which creatures have avian meat, what I meant was, is there an easier way to get it than just roaming the planet looking for those creatures. Are there Peko missions? What size of a group do you need for them if so? Things like that.

My problem would be that I cant survey. I guess I could always switch back and forth between novice scout and novice artisitan. Having to delete that stupid helper droid would get annoying, but I could live with it.

The avian meat you acquired is pretty good. If you look at your schematic, you will see that OQ and UT affect the number of charges, not DR. Furthermore, you will see that OQ and DR affect the duration. Ultimately, if you want to affect the number of charges, you need to craft ABECs with a high number of charges. A friend of mine has been experimenting with charges before effectiveness on his ABECs. In turn, he has been able to craft buff packs with 30+ charges.
When it comes to harvesting, the best thing to do is monitor www.swgcraft.com. This is the ultimate tool for anyone that is going to harvest resources. When you see awesome resources for your medical components and other medical items (e.g., buff packs), then go to that planet and spend the entire week there killing whatever you need to acquire that meat. If you can't pull the missions you need, then there are many things you can do. First, try calling a level 19-20 combat droid and grouping with it. If this doesn't work, see if you can bring some elite friends with you and group with them. Finally, if all else fails, go to Dantooine and shout that you're looking to join a solo group. Once you're in the group, high tail it to the planet you need to be on and start running missions.

1. Thats great meat 
DR might be only 400s, but hey its not 100-200s. And if you can match it with a decent reactive gas DR, your in business
2. Running around is alot more fun to me then running missions. If you can't find missions then you gotta run around. Though those websites might tell you if you can get em as missions which would be really nice to know before you run clear across the planet and don't find anything (ala Talusian avian...)
3. When i harvest my own meat (hehekekekekeke), I don't use a harvestor droid. All my droids are storage only. I just use vegash (sp) its a chef's food that boosts you harvesting abilities. Kinda nice actually only takes up like 15 food stomach space
4.The problems with resources is they shift in and out So you might have to look a long time to find something good. When you do, you can either harvest it yourself or outsource it. I have been a big outsourcier of goods, you DO pay more for the good, but you also get relieved the stress (like there is any). I'm trying to get back into harvesting my own mineral goods with only 10 lots.. but who knows. Meats are best outsourced for LARGE amounts. More people harvesting equals more meat when combined..
