So I did a nice little experiment yesterday. I was at the Mining outpost on Dant buffing. I was shouting "Master Doc buffing!! Tip what you can or want to for my buff" I put the str and time duration of my buff also.

Well to make a long story short people would rather pay a set price for a buff then figure out what to pay you. Even though they could have payed 1crd for a buff....

Cheers,

agree, I have tried this also. People acually got mad and were saying "Just tell me how much."

They dont want to have to think about it, they just want to pay their creds, get their buffs, and be on their way.

I used to do this when i buffed the public. I got most of my money from selling packs, so i'd buff people when i got bored. And yeah peopel tipped me the standard rate.. and then some n00bs would be like "i got no money" and i said "Well then don't tip me and get in line"

aahhhh i wish more docs would do this cause when you switch servers boy is it hard without buffs or money

I once gave a free buff to someone to confirm the duration (new buffs that I was trying for the first time). I didn't want to yell out free buff so I sent him a tell that it was free if he told me what the duration was. I could have tested it on myself but I didn't see the point. Either way a buff was used and this way someone got to take advantage of it. Anyways, He told me diration and asked how much (out loud). Again I sent him a tell but he must not have seen it becasue of all of the noise in Coronet. He asked and yelled "Just tell me how much so I can leave!" I finally had to say out loud that his buff was free. 2 seconds later I had a swarm of people looking for free buffs.

I had to lie and say I only had 10 and gave those away. I'm not trying to make a zillion dollars but it was first time out and I didn't have a lot of money for more buffs or materials to make buffs. Talk about ungrateful.
