Thread: This is the End Game?
So everyone says "I reached master now what?!".
Well for me the end game has so far been the true beggining for me. It's neat because this game is so new alot of people arn't even aware of some of the things people can do!
As a master I have experienced far more tips! I can buff good buffs!!!!!!!!!! I buffed a guy for 2,333 last night, is that good?? Whats the highest one can buff??!!
I love it love it love it! I am so appreciated now people are all about it! I do think they take advantage of the res feature though haha.. and die a little to often.. heh.. but that aside it great! Oh yeah buff's seam to go when someone dies? Even if I res?? So don't buff a friend who is about to commit suicide lol!
Oh yeah.. as anything but a master doc, i was always broke.. now im a master doc, im siting on about half a million hahahaha..
can you lend me 100k? lol or a medium moisture vaporator and solar generator?? lol I NEED POWER!!
anyone got bulk power they wanna sell me on tarquinas?? i would love to buy like 5k for 2 or 3 credits per unit. the bazzar is a rip off.
I have to say, even as a Novice Doctor (having just attained the ability to make and administer the most baby enhancements), I LOVE this career. Why?
1. People tip me, sometimes a LOT. 1-3K tips are not unusual.
2. People say "thank you." Even people who don't tip usually express their thanks.
3. People invite me to go with their group, to wherever, all the time. "We only have room left for the doctor." The doctor is one of the MOST desired team members.
4. I haven't had to pay for a single bit of my training. I've had an artisan char on another server, and it is very difficult to get free training, when you want it/ need it. However, in order to be a doctor or combat medic, you MUST master medic. Therefore, all medics who will be going elite are drooling to teach, making it super-easy to get any skill in the medic career.
5. It's extremely easy to get apprenticeship points. No standing outside of the starport shouting. Tons of people want basic medical skills, so they can heal themselves.
6. While there is crafting involved, it's SO MUCH less than any other career that involves crafting. The only way to level up as a weaponsmith, for example, is to craft weapons. Doctors only have one branch that requires crafting.
7. Getting medical xp is inherently social. Whether you're in the med center, the cantina, a camp, or out hunting, you're interacting with other people. (Compare this to being a crafter, where leveling up is inherently a solo job.)
8. If you're a medic or doctor, "everybody knows your name." It's really kind of cool to know everyone in town.
9. If somebody harasses you, you don't have to heal them. You can smirk to yourself behind your computer monitor while they get their fully black bars healed for 20 wounds per shot by a medic. They've been healed lots of times, they KNOW how many wounds a doctor can take care of. It's silent retribution.
10. You can level up your crafting entirely by making things you will actually USE. This is completely NOT true for any of theartisans. They are forced to grind in practice mode, making thousands of worthless items to level up.
11. Enhances and res-es are SO COOL. These are some of the most useful skills in the game. Lots of other careers have neat weapons and attacks, but we have the ability to SAVE LIVES.
12. Our skills and our products are inherently marketable. We can make really big bucks just doing enhances for people. Which is so NOT time-consuming to do. Combat types can make big bucks on missions, but can they make 2K in one minute?
13. Not everyone wants to be a doctor. Most want to be combat types, and more power to 'em. Our career will never be impacted and thus doctors will always be valuable. Because the thinking of many people is "who wants to hang around in the med center all day long?" LOL
...And I'm sure there are lots more reasons, but that's off the top of my head. I LOVE this career.
I have to agree, Doctor is a great class for social players. I routinely overwhelmed with /tells from customers seeking buffs, and get more invites than I know how to respond to. I have had many generous tips, some in the the five figure range, and can't understand how some Docs complain they are penniless. All it takes is a little friendly chatter while healing players and the tips roll in.
BTW, I popped-off a 2902 point action buff the other day, always on a friend, never on myself....

Yeah, ive found that being a doc is very rewarding, even to the point where I want to tell people to stop saying Thanks every time I heal / rez them! ![]()
Its my job! You keep me alive and I keep you alive, its as simple as that ![]()
As far as grinding goes, ive managed to get all the way to Advanced Doc crafting (and through Org chem) only making meds that I need. Ive only just started to grind simply because its the only boxes of the Doc tree ive got left to do and my house is full! ![]()
I really look forward to buffing someone for 3k ![]()
Hey Starphire, whereabouts on Tarquinas do you run around? I've got plenty of Wind Power banked (around 80k or so...), so I could definitely let you have some. Only problem is that I'll be away for 10 days starting on monday (and won't be on all day tomorrow either), so I'll only be in-game a few hours at most before that.
I even have a Solar Generator which is gathering dust and which you could have for those 10 days (in case you were serious about that, hehe). I should be on sometime later today (about 3-4 hrs from now), so I'll try to send you a /tell.
