Thread: Using Stims but healing no damage?

I don't know if anyone else has encountered this and already mentioned, but I'm pretty sure it's a result of the buggy patch.

I was doingsome damage healing earlier with stims, and once the player was healed I cleared him from my target. After healing himthere were a couple of heals still queued up, and when they fired off I noticed my character actually went through the motion of healing himself. The odd thing was even though I had no damage,it never gave me the "You have no damage to heal" message. So I tried it a few more times with my inventory open, and sure enough, it was using a stim each time to heal absolutely no damage. Anyone else notice this? I tried to /bug it, but amazingly, it's still not working.

Yes, I discovered that yesterday too and forgot to mention it.

You can now waste charges of stims and medpacks on a fully healed person. The heal goes off, the animation occurs, and a charge is taken from the pack.

Interesting thing like that happened to me in the med center last night. Was healing a guy's Health and Action wounds. No problem. Went into diagnose to find his stat wounds and decided to heal his con which listed as -54.

Hit him with the heal. Saw the flash, lost the mind and charge but saw no message on the heal. Hmm. Must have missed it i thought.

I refreshed his diagnose window and his con was still at -54. So i'm thinking, "Is that supposed to be listed as -54 or just 54... Hmm..."

So I hit him again with the wound heal. Same thing. I see the flash, lose the mind and the charge but see no message. Refresh his diagnose window and nothing. Still -54.

So... I stopped trying.I hate wasting charges to no effect.

No idea why this was happening. Just thought i'd report it.

It happened to me too yesterday.

When I buffed someone, I noticed the health bar buffs full. I thought it was a display glitch so I fired off a stim. It used the stim, but didn't do any healing.

Hope this one gets fixed soon since I all too often have the wrong target selected when I'm healing

I noticed this too last night. In my opinion, this is different that the Stim bug where you can continue to use them even though the target has no damage. A patient of mine had -45 wounds in consitution and strength. I tried using a woundpack several times, and the number never went away.

I never paid enough attention before, but is the problem that it's showing a negative number? I don't recall the numbers being negative before, but, like I said, I never paid close enough attention to that. And, of course, since I'm at work now, I can't instantly verify that.

Zarlor - did you post anything on the correspondent forum about this wound issue too?

You know, this might be by design... In other games, you can heal someone even if they don't need it, and if you do, you lose the mind/mana/resources/whatever.

I can land a full heal in eq on someone and bummer on me if they didn't need it; that's part of what seperates a good healer from a firehose healer.

I'm not sure if this is an intended change or not, but the way it WAS wasn't very realistic, IMO. (nobody tells a real doctor don't heal that, it's the wrong kind of injury).

Just a thought...

I'm not sure we're talking about the same thing though. We've done the diagnose and the number was negative. I too am at work and can't instantly verify if they should show as -45 con or 45 con in the Diagnose window.

Either way, the only time I should "blow" the charge would be if I dumped a healing on a stat that was listed as 0. That I can accept. My bad on that. But this had a non-zero value and still nothing happened to the client.

If that's the case, that's perfectly fine with me. If so,I guess instead of bug, it would then fall under the "it would be nice to know..." category.

SBad, no, i agree... what you found/experienced sounds like a bug to me. However, using medicines and going thru the motions of healing even when no healing (of that type) is required, is what i meant might be by design.

And BLS, I totally agree that it would be nice to know but I've also been exposed to the modus operandi of this 'development team' for long enough torealize thatthey have no commitment to communication (and CERTAINLY no follow through on the lipservice they DO give it).

We may never know...

Indeed Emmy indeed.

Not sure how they feel that the title of Dev Team is warranted actually. If my developers produced half as poorly as these folks do, they'd have found themselves looking for new job opportunities a long time ago.

Regarding the report of negative wounds in /diagnose - I've got negative wounds myself. I have -25 willpower wounds. Relogging or eating food doesn't fix it. I still have some willpower so it's not a problem, but i'm not sure what "-25" in the wounds is supposed to be.

by my idioticlogic a wound is a negative right? Sooo a negative negative is a positive right? So say you have 900 health, and 50 health wounds, that would leave you with 900-50=850, but with -50 health wounds you would have 900- -50 = 950.....you follow?

Right now my other stats are OK, but I have -158 wounds to both Quickness and Stamina. And you're correct, this gives +158 to both stats (they are listed as 458/300).

My character is naked, I had her killed/cloned, and I relogged to try and fix it. All my other stat problems went away after doing this, except the negative wounds. Theycannot be healed and I have /bugged it.

Maybe I need an anti-wound pack or something Might get a CM todisease me if they have a quickness/stamina disease?
