Thread: Possible Factory Speed Bug

I've talked to another doctor about this and we've both noticed that the ALS's are taking a crapload of time to make in factories. Over 4 hours for 100 items? It might even be going slower than that.
Has anyone else noticed this or are we both imagining things? It's going to take days to make 1000 ALS's at this rate. I don't remember them ever taking even close to this long. Please test this and reply.

Sounds about right.
Complexity * 8 * number of items is the formula.

Yeah, I would use that forumla above (only noting that the 8 should read 8 seconds.) Test what you re doing with that formula and compare what the time shoudl have been with what it is. If thereis a problem here the Devs are going to want a lot more detail to track it down.

Oh, and remember that everytime you hit that Experiment button you increase the complexity of the item. So if you are experimenting one point at a time you are going to get a more comples (and taking longer to manufacture) item than if you were able to make a schematic in only a couple of experimentation passes.

Yep, if you're a point-by-pointer, that would be about right for an ALS.
If you interested in mass manufacturing, all at once experimentation is the only way to go.

Thanks a whole bunch for the info here. I asked several doctor friends and they had said that they didn't know there was a formula for it. It's making a lot more sense now as the critical failures have been forcing me to use smaller steps for the experimentation.
I'll still keep an eye on the exact time it's taken based on your formula but this goes a long way to explaining the variability in factory manufacturing time.
