Avian meat prices are insane on Keetemor server!!!

There is an awsome spawn of avian on Lok at the moment.

I was out there harvesting it.....

Now I don't know about your server but on keetemore, Lok is typically void of players.

Last night however there were more people on Lok then on Naboo !

Why?

Avian meat - I saw all professions out there, from mixed elite combat classes to people with CDEF pistols.

And people were fighting over lairs and missions - and getting pretty vulgar about it.

Being a master doc and master swordsman I have to pop food (forget the name but adds +31 to creature harvesting)

I averaged about250 to500 of avian meat per lair (depending on size of lair and babies).

Now all you Docs know that each buff pack takes 28 units of avian meat.

The meat is / was selling for 120 credits per unit.

At one point a guy asked me if I wanted to buy his for175 credits per unit. I politly said "NO" and he flamed me saying that I was a moron cause all the other docs are paying 250 per unit!

Now I am not a math wizard but....

28 units of meat at 120 per unit = 3360 (for me this each buff pack has about 30 uses)

And that is if I am lucky enough to buy it at 120 CPU - more then likely after the meat shifts, the price will go up to about 275 cpu.

And on Kettemore the "standard" buff price is 10k

The MOST i have ever seen any doc charged for a buff was 15k

Really glad I went out there and harvested 15k of it - headed back out again tonight (hope it has not shifted) cause...

THESE PRICES ARE INSANE

Flurry also has a good spawn on Lok which is one of the best avian planets to hunt on.

I kill all my own birds to keep my costs down so while it is in season I am doing nothing else but hunting. It is mindless but so I do a lot of chatting with other hunters that I know while we hunt.

Here are some things that my help you.

1. Get some good Veguesh (can't remember the exact name) which gives a bonus to harvesting. You can get +10 for non bio and +30 or so for bio. It only lasts about 11 min.

2. Try out one of the new harvest droids. I believe they harvest a little bit more but I am not sure. I have not finished testing mine. It's a pain pulling/storing it I must admit.

3. I am a master TK but I am thinking of dropping the master to get a few more Hunt skills then pick master back up when the spawn is over.

I don't really see 100 cpu as beingall that impactive to the buff price. At 100 cpu its only 2.8k + other resoucesso about 5k a pack. You can sell the packs for about 10k or more so that 2x your investment. If your buffing for cash then you can make about 40k off that pack. So all in all 100 cpuaint all that bad.

I don't buy it, however, while I can still hunt it.

I hear you mate unfortauntely some of us are not as fortunate with our skill points and hate the insanity that other people bring with it. I myself will fall by the wayside on this as a master doc with no desire to buy avian at those rediculious prices and try and make good with them. It's not worth my time to sit and buff when i can buff myself join asolo group and make 27k per mission that take about 3 minutes to run and do.

No hastle, no @$$hats cutting line or telling you off or talking smack about your buffs, no one undercutting you to steal business.

less hastle all around.

Thats not too bad a price, I've seen higher on Valcyn *sigh*

Essentially it will go up until more Rangers come into play, or the market refuses to sustain higher prices for buff packs/buffs

Anyone who isn't confused doesn't really understand what's going on.

I'm glad I made the decision before starting this game that I'd have to have 2 accounts and have a Doctor seperate from my main character. I harvest all my own meat and will never pay these ridiculously high prices that decent avian attracts. This is why I can currently sell my buffpacks for 12k a time. Most of the Doctors who offer to buy meat at these prices are selling theirs for 20k+.

Hats off to SOE. Not many companies could take the best MMO on the market and fu*k it up completely, that takes real skill.

On Corbantis now, Talus Avian meat: DR=193, FL=495, PE=903, OQ=997

Prices are 100 cpu or there abouts, however, out of spawn I can only imagine what they'll jump up to... I'll hopefully harvest enough for a crate (two if I'm VERY bored) and then sell all the rest that I harvest. Though getting 10k units from things that drop 10 each time... Thats 1000 of them, so about 100-120 missions...

On Shadowfire we have the same situation. No good avian for a long time and then we get a good spawn on Dathomir 939 OQ, 860PE, 524 DR. The place is packed and it's going for 100 - 125cpu. I'm sure when it shifts out the prices will go up even higher.

It wouldn't be so bad if we didn't need it for 5 out of 6 of the packs.

On Tarquinas, the best avian meat to ever spawn hit Dath about 6 months ago or so. 930 OQ, 980PE, 775 Dr. I have created posts offering 400cpu many times over the last month or so and haven't had many takers, even tho there are people sitting on stacks 25-60k. Most people that actually have sold me some did it with trades, not cred. Thats because everyone is sitting on absurd amounts of cred that it has become essentially worthless. Its trading that drives the economy now.

I sell enhance packs as my business tho. An average person would never use 25k avian in a year. I use it in a month easily.

I am an SOE customer, now only if they'd treat me as one...hell, I'd be happy if they treated me like a McDonald's customer.

Actually, you should use it for all 6 of the packs... consistancy makes the customer happiest. I paid one ofthe Rangers on Shadowfire to get me 20k of it at 100cpu...

Now, I haven't seen anyone say it yet, but think about it... these prices are not that bad. Considering how hard it is to get avian, how good it is and **how little** you need for each pack, it seems pretty fair to me. A bit of math:

Meat: 4,000u
Price of meat: 100cpu
Total price: 400,000c [4000u * 100cpu]
Packs: 20 of each stat with a factory [you can actually get 25 pretty easily, but you never know with buff packs]
Charges: 28 per pack
Price per round [public buffing]: 12,000c [seems to be a decent average for the good stuff on any server]
Now here's the kicker...
Profit [actual profit, not gross]: 6,320,000c [(12,000c * 28 * 20) - (400,000c)]

Now, I have decent luck experimenting on buff packs, and a nearby city with a bonus on assembly rolls, and of course a doc crafting apron [+5 assembly], so I got 25 of each pack out of just 4000 meat. That's a profit of 8 million at 12k per round, less free buffs for guild and friends, and of course myself.

That's a pretty damn big profit margin if you ask me, and with that in mind, I'm happy to pay 100cpu for the meat that we have on Dath on SF right now.

EDIT: Also, the profit doesn't include the prices for your Gas or sub components, since they are pretty easy to get as it is. Factor all of that in and you still clear over 6 million with my given example, and 7.5m with the 25 packs example.

EDIT2: AAAAAAAAAND another thing... if you take the total cost of packs, which we'll call 500k [meat + components/gas assuming you harvest it yourself]... that's approximently 900cr cost per round of buffs that we sell at 10k or better [with the 20 packs example]...
