Thread: What happened to Creature Farms?

I just remembered something...

Back in Beta they had harvesters called Creature farms ..they harvested meat....then they just disappeared, nobody really knew why and i dont specifically remember them telling us why...

Im wondering if they took them out of the game to allow Scouts a market for selling, or wondering if its its a case of missing schematics like it was for Flora harvesters. Maybe the Correspondent could get this looked into also...as being able to harvest meats would ..i think save many doctors lots of heartache.

I wouldnt be surprised if the schematic is just missing and we could have our own meat farms Atleast thats what im hoping for.

Creature Farms? No...we don't need them. Well, ok, we DO need more avian/herbivore/insect meat available but a creature farm is not the way to go. It would effectively remove a viable product the Scout/Ranger class has to offer, which is harvested organics.

Im just curious if its still considered a harvester and their just missing ....i know alot of other classes need those too...particularly Bio-Engineers, you need TONS of meat to skill up that tree. And buying from those greedy bazaar bastards that charge 3k for 500 meat...it gets expensive.

I have an architect friend who mastered that profession and he never mentioned any 'creature farm'...so i think, if it was in back in beta, it's long gone now.

Thats not my point..

Large/Medium FLora harvesters for all intents and purposes didnt exist for Master Architects either..it wasnt until this last patch they could make them. I think the same thing maybe happening with Creature Farms...

What I'm saying is, that there was no schematic available for a 'Creature Farm'. The Architects DID have a schematic for Large Flora Harvesters, but there was a bug that wouldn't let them be made. There just isn't a schematic for a 'Creature Farm' at all.

They removed some professions from the game to "possibly" added at a later date. One of these said profession was as stated below.

Farmer
This elite profession includes skills from the livestock production and harvester management disciplines. A player in this profession can grow plants and animals for foods and medicines

Another good one they removed is...

Industrialist.
This profession includes skills from the factory maintenance and management disciplines. A player in this profession can affect the speed at which factories turn out items.

Farmer was changed to Bio-Engineer. Industrialist was scrapped along with Miner.

"Maybe the Correspondent could get this looked into also..."

Sad to say, I have no pull on anything whatsoever. I keep trying to reiterate this to folks, but I don't actually "Co-Respond" with anyone. It's actually a one-way street. I simply have an Email address that I'm supposed to send the Top 5 issues to (originally once a week, but he Devs put a hold on that). It's just a black hole and the only response that comes from it (and rightly so, IMHO) gets posted right here onto the boards. (Although apparently we didn't warrant getting our own direct response this last go around, along with many of the other support professions. Go figure. And for those in Beta, no surprise, either.)

So please just remember that asking me, as correspondent, to do anything is rather useless because there i nothing I can do. The only thing I CAN do in this respect is to add an issue to the list and then you can vote on it to try and get it into the Top 5 Doc Issues so maybe the Devs will see and/or respond to it. I wouldn't hold your breath, though. They didn't bother responding to the last issues we sent in any meaningful way. /shrug
