Thread: A simple way to calculate your crates

Based on a response from another thread, I thought I would repeat it in a separate thread as it seems noteworthy enough. Keep in mind this is all based on one crate of 50 normal Biological Effect Controllers (BEC). Here is the response to the post asking me my pricing on a crate of BEC's. You can use this formula for any of your stims if you know the final price. Kind of back calculating.

Well, my crates are probably higher than most BEC's but I will explain how I come up with a number.

First of all, factories are still bugged and I lose 2,500 every time I re-deed. I refuse to make crates anymore without passing along that loss to my customers. I have lost close to 100k and will not do so anymore. Sorry, but that is the way it is. Not worth my time and effort to do so otherwise. So with each set of 100 I make (since I can only make 100 at a time), I get 2 crates per run. Therefore, each crate gets increased 1,250 credits.

Secondly, I charge per resource based on a stim B I can generate using the specific BEC. My normal stims B's sell for 1,000. Take that 1,000 and divide it by the number of resource needed to make the stim B (64) and you come up with 15.625. It takes 12 resources to make a normal BEC, so multiply 12*15.625 and you get 187.5. This is what I charge Per BEC.

So the the final crate of BEC formula would look like this

1,000 /64 = 15.625 (this includes gathering resources and maintenance on factory/power and cost of resource)

15.625 * 12 = 187.5

187.5 * 50 = 9,375

add redeed factory cost of 1250

1,250 + 9,375 = 10,625.

Now you are thinking "no way am I paying that when I can get one from Joe Blow at 5k". Let me explain something to you then.

If I bought the three crates of the components I need to make a 1,000 credit Stim B for a total of 15,000 credits, then I can take those 50 Stim B's made from those 3 crates and charge 50k. That is an exploit of 35k for buying component crates off someone for 5k alone. In order for me, as a crafter, not to get used by one this way, I charge what I charge based on above.

Go ahead and criticize me, but with the game machanics, structure and economy the way it is, this is how I deal my wares. Of course I will adjust accordingly as factories get fixed and the economy settles. It is not worth my time to do this any other way. If you want them, I can make them, but it costs and I refuse to eat the cost myself any longer.

You can take this same method and figure out the other two components easy. I like it this way because it eliminates the need for using a "3 credit per unit" type formula since the cost of the resource, time, and factory usage are incorporated into my way already.

So go ahead and criticize away
