Hi,

I’m doing the Doc/CM/Pistollier combo. I like healing, I like combat. I just got into the Doc Tree and CM tree.

As a medic I didn’t wear armor because I didn’t have a lot of Mind to survive fighting for very long. Now as I get into some of the meaner creatures….ok I no longer run from them like a 5 year old girl from a spider, I’m thinking it may be time to get some armor.

For those of you that have been out there what recommendations of armor and mind encumbrance might you recommend? I have leveled all 3 BARs of my HAM to about the same for health and mind, (Less for action) and I regenerate Mind at a fair rate (Almost as fast as my heal rate). I’m worried I’m gonna incap myself for mind if I wear armor, but I see many doc’s who seem well protected.

Does armor really matter once you can buff your own stats at the master levels?

A lot of people say armor is worthless or worse than worthless, but I really like using ubese armor. I use 2 tantel helms. You have to carry 2 due to some kind of weird armor bug, where the protections for the armor randomly change everytime you end up in a new server zone.

I carry teltier noodles, in case I'm in a long drawn out fight where I need more mind regen to keep up healing my groupmates. And I keep the helmets hotkeyed, so I can take them off and put them on as needed.

Anyways, thats just me. Your mileage may vary...

The only time I use my armor is in brief PvP encounters or if I have to pop a muon and suit up to avoid dying in the field.
461 mind encumberance for my full suit is brutal and I use it sparingly

If you're grinding missions and spam specials like I tend to do it wouldn't hurt to get some charde also. Drink some of that as you're running to your mission and you start off with a nice bit of extra mind. Teltier noodles are good as stated by Migosh but when the stuff hits the fan you just cant beat some good Muon

If you must wear armor, go for Ubese armor. It has the least mind encumbrance and protects you very well. But DON'T wear any kind of helmet armor. It's just too encumbrancing.

But seriously, I'd really consider if you need armor. Look at your combat screen when you wear it--it generally only blocks about 10% of what hits you. I'd rather NOT wear armor and have no encumbrance. Then I can move faster, be stronger and have a better mind. To me, that's worth getting hit 10% more.
