Thread: crates and factories

can you now keep things in crates for mass production of stims in factory or still need to take it out individually. thanks

Last night I did a run of 98 Stim B's although I didn't get them all finished =(



It made the first 50 fine and stopped when it had to start pulling from the new crates at which time I tried ejecting 1 from each of the remaining grates and restarting which of course made 1 stim and stopped again so I would say no they aren't working completely yet. I was doing the make 99 or less deal and I didn't use up a schematic although I will say I didn't try to redeed and do it again because frankly I am tired of Redeeding and I just don't feel like it anymore. I will redeed once each time they *fix* the issue and try it and if it doesn't work I wil wait for the next patch or I will just quit in disgust whichever comes first *yawn*

Yesterday (or was it Monday?)I made approx 104 StimBs. Crate 1= 50, Crate 2 = 49, Crate 3 = 5. Then I couldn't get any more made. I don't "prime" the crates - but I do put in an extra crate for each type I use. I did manage to get 150 LS made .... though I was trying for 300.

I have no problem with it pulling from crates as long as you have more than 1 crate of each type. I do runs of 1000 of each component then throw it all in to do runs of 200 or whatever to make the stim Bs, Cs, and woundpacks. To pull from a crate it seems it needs at least 2 crates tho. It seems like a change was made tho to sometimes pull from crates with alternating crates so 2 50s can sometimeslast 99 instead of 50. A 20 and a 50 crate will only last about 39 tho. I did have a full run once tho when I took someone elses advice of putting in the components in the order you see it when you list the ingredients required. Hope this helps.

Just an fyi... you can even have one crate, and one single unit of an item from that crate to get it to keep pulling.


Sometimes you have to babysit through the first 3 items made or so with the input hopper open. I start a job for say Stim B with the resources, crates, and idividual units pulled from those crates. When the first item is made, it will usually pull from one of crates (say for the bio effect for instance), and take the idividual items for the other two (liquid and chem release).


At this point, while the fac is still running, I take the liquid and chem crates, put them in my inventory, pull single items out agian, and put all 4 items back in the factory. Usually at this point the fac will pull solely from the crates, leaving the single items alone, and I can then go off and take care of otherbusiness.


This will be useful for people that dont have multiple crates of something, or only want to do a close to 50 run of something.
