I don't really see how the new system for Specials is going to work as i can only see 2 outcomes.

1. Secondary Stats still effect the cost of specials in which case more and more people will go doctor to self buff or find a decent master doctor to buff them which will still allow them to spam specials like there going out of fashion

2. Secondary Stats will not effect special cost at which time they will become pointless, no one will buff them and players will min/max realizing that points spent on secondaries are just wasted.

Now i know the scenario 1 isa great advantage to all the master docs out there, in theory. But i don't quite see how this is going to resolve the problem.

The second problem is with regen Stats if they effect the speed at which you regen specials bar everyone will max them with buffs if they don't then everyone will neglect them to have a higher overall pool to take from again leading to min/maxing . Just my opinion.

The real fix will be in the combat rebalance of special costs.

The trick is to make the special costs useful for unbuffed people, but still cost something (above 0 or 1 pt)for people with the highest doctor buffs. Buffed people should ahve an advantage, but not free specials.

The way TH is talking, it sounds like it will take several months for all the combat professions to be adjusted. Have you correspondents been given a shorter time estimate?

No. But even if we had we wouldn't be able to say anything about it.

Nope, we have the same estimate as you.

There is a good chance that at any point in the rebalance that any professions may end up under/overpowered until the entire system is in. Depending on the order that everything gets put in, of course.

It isn't clear where healers will fall in that, but we have assurances that all combat balance will keep buffs and healing in mind when numbers are shifted around. So a top of the line Doc buff stacked with new chef, smuggler, and entertainer buffs, will be taken into account (as will no buffs at all).
