Thread: Scout or Artisan?
Why not both? ![]()
Serioulsy, it only costs 100 credits to switch between the two of them....I do it all the time, scout for hunts, Artisan when I want to find some resources.
Best of both worlds ![]()
Let me answer from the perspective of running a large medical supplies business. I used to have Scout and hunting IV andhunted all my own meat. However I had to then buy all of my resources or hire a surveyor to place all my harvestors. We are talking here about large quantities of resources, enough to keep 3 factories running 24/7. Keep in mind that hunting 16k of herbivore meat takes a LONG time at the keyboard, but you can place your harvestors and forget them for a week at a time if need be. Since I only have a couple of hours a day to play, both hunting and managing harvestors became too much too handle and I had to make the same choice you are facing.
I chose Artisan/survey because it's more cost effective in both game credits and game timeto harvest my own lok wheat, dant berries, talus water, class4 petrol, dolovite iron, tattoine fiberplast, good organics and inorganics, etc. Then I only have to pay someone to hunt for herbivore/avian meat, which is expensive, yes, but it's better than the other way around.
A further advantage for me was that you need Artisan to get to the Merchant tree, so it was more efficient with the skill points. If you need some speed you can pick up Novice Combat Medic (for 6 skill points rather than 15 for scout) and get a couple of boxes in Combat Medic Support.
Hope this was useful for you.
