Thread: Seeking Opinions on Adv BEC's

Ok, i'm crafting adv BEC's that i will mostly use in enhance D's though will likely use some for stims as well. My question is, what are the varying opinions import of charges versus power. I will be using all adv components so certainly will have other areas to increase power, but then again alot of peeps only see power when looking at medicines they're looking to buy. I made a few runs and max power with current materials is 22 with 12 charges vs power 20 with 14 charges. I suppose i could also go all out on charges and make something more along lines of 12power 20charges but that doesn't seem like a good idea to me. Anyway, opinions would be greatly appreciated, and if you think the difference won't amount to much in the end, feel free to say so. Thanks!

from all my experiance charges seem to be the only thing really important with ABEC's, when I experiment the charges I get farmore charges withstims and Enhance packs

people who really know what they are doing when they choose a stime will take into account number of charges as a major factor.

a 37 charge 411 power stim B is better IMO than a 32 charge 440 power stim B at the same price

Have to agree there.. On BEC's you only get a marginal boost to Power from putting the points into effectiveness compared to LS and CDRM's... It is much more worth it to get the extra charges out of it and instead focus on getting as good LS and CERM's as possible

You must understand how subcomponents work. Basically, the values from the subcomponents are added to the final product. So, if your BEC has 10 charges and 20 power, your CRDM has 60 power, and your LS has 150 power, your Stim will be up 10 charges and 230 power.

Notice, though, that almost all of that power came from the CRDM and the LS. The power on the BEC is paltry compared to the others. However, if you switch that BEC configuration, your final stim will have 10 more charges and only 10 less power. That seems like one heck of a deal to me!

When I make BEC's, I only worry about charges. The dang things could have 1 power for all I care. I'm just after the charges and the more of those I can get, the better.

Besides, we all know how hard it is to gather large quantities of meat. Well, think of it this way - by using a BEC with a high number of charges, you're getting more from your meat. The same amount of meat is now going to last an additional 10 charges. If you're talking about an enhancement pack with 20 charges vs one with 30 charges, you're talking about 1.6 units or herb meat and 1.1 units of avian meat per charge vs 1.06 units of herb meat vs 0.73 units of avian meat per charge. To me, that's a much better way to go.

Exactly. I take advantage of this behavior in other ways - when crafting something with regular CDRMs, I use the worst organics and chemicals that I own. Why? Because the difference between a 4 power CDRM and a 10 power CDRM is completely inconsequential to the final product. I might as well use my resources that are worth the least and save the good resources for whereyou can makethe mostdifference - in the final assembly.

There are only 2 cases where experimenting ABECs on power makes any sense -

  1. It causes the final assembly to break a psychological limit. A 400/40 StimB will probably sell better than a 398/42 StimB, despite the second being more resource and price efficient.

  2. It is designed for use in PvP where you want sheer power and don't care about efficiency. Some min-maxerswill want10 more power on an enhance pack and sacrifice the 10 charges. For the much more common use of meds - PvE - charges is the only thing that makes sense.

Thanks everyone. Answered my question and much more. Picked up several tid bits on how components factored in to meds that i didn't know. I'll be going all charge on BEC's from now on.
