Hi Everyone

Been playing about a month and have chosen doctor as my main profession for now and have some questions for you.....

...........and no they are not "How do I macro the prof" questions.

1. Buff packs - Just got Adv Doc Crafting and noticed that the Enhance Action B kit has almost identical ingredients as the Enhance ActionA kit, while the Enhance Health B kits have totally different and harder ingredients. Also theAction B kit came out at nearly the same potency as the A kit. Is this a bug or?

2. Combat Healing - I do a lot ofhealing in fights and have noticed some things....

A. If you are healing someone in a fight and you are not actually fighting yourself, your heals/clear states, etc tend to be nearly instant. If, however, you are attacking/being attacked....even if you have no specials in the combat queue, your heals can be delayed by up to 5-10 seconds. This would be easily remedied EXCEPT for......

B. Auto Attack. Grrrrr Whenever I am attacked by something I automatically shoot back. There are some instances where I don't want to be shooting, I want to be healing. Even if you quickly hit "peace" it still delays your healing by a good amount presumably as the game processes your being attacked and than shooting back and than declaring peace. Does anyone know if it is possible to turn off Auto Attack?

C. Aggro ranges....how far and what creatures aggro seems to be totally random. I have been aggroed with no weapons in my hand by things that have run past teammates carrying swords or rifles to get to me. What gives? Does any Doc have good tips on healing and avoiding aggro or is this been done intentionally so that to heal in combat you "must" be a CM and be a good 50 meters away from the battle? I hope that isn't the case....even I have noticed that ppl don't play CM's to heal from a distance, they play CM's to poison ppl in PvP. The only ppl I see healing are docs.

Given all of that, Is is a good idea to pick up Novice CM to be able to heal at a distance or is it just not worth it?

3. Clear state meds...Is there any difference/benefit to the advanced (B+ kits) for clearing state/poison/disease? Reason I am asking is because my A kit clear state meds seem to work just fine and are 100% effective.

4. Wound kits - Given that with good skill and a good set of B kit wound meds I can heal like 300ish wounds per use, is there any purpose/advantage to making wound C kits or higher? Just wondering since it seems to be the doc's main skill next to buffing and the regular B kits seem to be more than enough to do the job.

Thanks in Advance for any advice.

1.) yes it is weird. We are trying to get it normalized one way or the other.

2.)A.) The in and out of the combat queue thing is in process. Not attacking, the heal is based 100% on medicine re-use time (medic speed in sttims, doc speed in wounpacks and buffs). The devs are trying to fully integrate healing into combat.

B.) Yeah, many peopel in the healing arts ahve requested the ability to turn off auto-attack. it usually gets bumped so far down that it doesn't get pused to the devs as a priority.

c.) Healing used to be a non-aggro thing.. You were 100% safe. Devs changed it a while back. You can be aggroed on at any time when you heal. Range is not relevant. While not proven, it has been hinted at, that Smarter high level NPCs will intentionally attack healers.

3.) Depends on the power of what you are healing. many of the states (blind, intimidate etc.) do operate on very low levels. Some seem to stack. When stacked, you may need more then 1 cure A ... but it is rare. This may be changed in the combat balance. The devs have not answered if different attacks actualyl cause different levels of states, or if all blinds are created equal.. Poisons, diseases and bleeds do have levels, so it is possible that other state levels were just not "turned on" for relaesa, and mobs in the game cannot attacke w/ them outside of that 1 level.

4.) With highly damaged characters after long nights of heavily buffed fighting, C packs can be very useful for main HAM stats (Health, Action). I personalyl never use over B packs for secondary HAM. Also C packs can be very useful in PVP vs. flamethrowers.

Ill try to answer your questions:

This is not a bug. Your crafting depends on three things as I understand it; a) ingredients b) your skill level in crafting the meds and c) the quality of the tools/crafting stations. Try different ingredients to see if this adjusts the potency. Also expirementation of course plays a role.

Healing while in combat: when you are firing and want to heal someone, the "heal" is placed in your combat line up. The heal will be executed after you next round of attack/special ability.

Not yet.

C. Aggro ranges....how far and what creatures aggro seems to be totally random.

The aggro ranges depend on the creature/NPC and their ability, whether you have your scent masked, whether you are in combat and your distance from them. There is likely also a "random" factor to it, not sure.

Given all of that, Is is a good idea to pick up Novice CM to be able to heal at a distance or is it just not worth it?

If you've invested all of these points in getting doc, you wont have a whole lot left over to survey for your resources for crafting and for fighting, I wouldn't pick up CM if you plan on keeping doc.

I stick with the A level on clear states. I haven't bothered with the B's since the A's seem to do a good job.

Good luck!

A schematic is a blueprint that can be used in a factory to mass produce meds or medical components.

When im master should i make my own buffs or buy them?

Completely up to you. When I started out, I bought my buffs at first and used the profits from starport buffing to buy quality resources. Once I had enough resources stockpiled, I then started to craft my own.

When you buff do you set a macro for your bot?

I use the following macro (make sure the buffee is targetted first and you have all appropriate buff packs in your inventory)

/healenhance health;

/pause 17;

/healenhance constitution;

/pause 17;

/healenhance strength;

/pause 17;

/healenhance action;

/pause 17;

/healenhance quickness;

/pause 17;

/healenhance stamina;

/pause 17;

/thank;

(the pauses are set for a master doc - they'll need to be longer if you're a non-master)

Who is Michael Jackson?

hope that helps!

A schematic allows you to put it in a food factory and make crates of the item.

As a MD it doesnt really matter if you make your own buffs or not. Personally I craft my own but I know a lot of others that buy them. I basically comes down to if you like crafting or not. Some just cant deal with and buy their stuff. Either way you will be spending money.. either buying actual items or buying resources to make things. You may spend less if you craft your own but its all really about personal preference.

When I buff I do not use a macro. I tend to click happy and will click off the person to read a bio or something like that and if I have a macro running I will end up buffing the wrong person.

I dont know if Jackson is guilty or not but it wouldnt surprise me if he was.

/agree

/agree, I did the exact same thing. DEFINATELY buy before you make them, so you can buff for money and pay/gather resources for your own. That and buying gets you through dry spells of avian and other resources

I use /pause 15-16; and am fine (sorry, but I honestly can't remember...erk). I'm master doc, no extra mods, there was a time however when coronet was BADLY lagging, it was after a partial patch and EVERYONE on the server noticed a 3-5 second delay on tells, spatials, and anything else. I had to up my pauses to 20 to not get a "you must wait before applying another enhancement". Oh, and why do you need to wait 17 seconds before you /thank someone?

Is Michael Jackson guilty ?

Who is Michael Jackson?

no comment...

hope that helps!
