Thread: In search of the Veggie Stim-B

A while back I saw a post here about the dream of a 400 Power Stim-B using regular CRDM instead of the ACRDM which requires Herb Meat, but still with reasonable charges. The Veggie Stim-B. Thanks to a recent spawn of OQ 979 Talus water, which pushed up the power of my ALS, I was able to pull one off with an ABEC experimented for charges.

My subcomponents

19 Pwr CRDM

172 Pwr ALS

21 Chg /12Pwr ABEC

My final product

400 Pwr / 40 Chg Stim-B!

I guess I'm excited because I'm a 10-point Doc, never had the money to afford another +5 to go with my apron. Also, I'm about to begin selling Medical Supplies on my server rather than just buffing the customer myself. I'm hoping that by making Stims of this quality without Herb Meat I can afford to sell the Stims for a much lower price than those made with meat, and still make a decent profit.

I would appreciate any thoughts or comments the rest of the Doc community may have...

Thanks,

Trick

Figure out what you're charging for your stims, roughly. Figure how many actual resources you're using to make them. Divide accordingly and come up with a "raw cpu" of what people are paying.. ie, you may be charging 20-30cpu average for your stims. Buying the crappiest of herb meatat even 10cpu and reselling it as a stim still makes you 10-20cpu just on the meat. (Minus time and power for the factory, etc.)

Its not that bad. If you can make it without herb meat, great, but people will pay a lot more for 450x40 than they will for 400x40.

I make both kinds. Made 423/44 without ACRDM and 483/43 with, surprisingly both sell just as well.

Nice work, just wait for some better Dantooine Berries to spawn in and they will get even higher. I'm currently at 416/42.

I used to make and sell 412/40s last year because no class 4 LPF spawned on Valcyn until 3 months after release (and I was looking from day one, having been a doctor in beta).

Later I quit the game and gave away my resource stockpile. When I came back this year and was rebuilding my resources I found myself doing the same thing -- selling 409/37 Stim B made with normal CRDMs. They sell well, if you price them right. Made a lot of money.

I think my last batch of "veggie stim Bs" (good term, btw) were 422/42.

They sell within minutes on the coronet bazaar. Its fairly amazing.

Of course, they languish on my vendor more or less indefinitely, even though I sell 'em much cheaper there.

I've had that same experience too oddly enough. I can't keep them in stock on the bazaar (that goes for B's and C's). However, on the vendor B's don't move that well and the C's very rarely do.

And I'm guessing you put your coords in the title too?

Although, I used to send out emails to people that bought a bunch of them off the bazaar -- a shop wp and a brief description. More people than should have replied with, "oh cool, you have a vendor" or some variant. You'd think they'd have gathered that from the coords in the name of the stim... Heh.

Of course, but to no avail it seems

Just to encourage you, I was able to make 436/30 and 425/40 Stim Bs with basic CRDM. I think subcomponent ratings were 19 CRDM, 191 ALS and 21 Power / 10 charges for the 436/30. Also I have only 10 experimentation points.

Wow, I have absolutely no idea what you guys are talking about. I guess I'll make my way out of the doc forums now.

Yeah it doesn't matter, people are often too lazy to move to a player city or another city to buy things. Stims fly off the Coronet bazaar but barely sell for 30% cheaper on the vendor. Go figure.

This is really interesting, I had no idea you could get such good results with the basic CRDMs, I shall have to look into making Veggie Stims now, I never bothered making Stims in bulk before simply because I couldn't be bothered to collect more Herbivore meat than I absolutely had to.

Oh, oh, speaking of which, if you drag the Enhanced Kwis out of the Geo cave and kill them outside, they drop nearly 500 units of Yavinian Herbivore meat each
