Thread: Macros leaving: Will it hurt our new doctors?

My question is while the entertainers whine, and I have right to say that my alt is one, my main is a doc, will new medics and docs be able to get the xp. SWG has turned into a solo world and with it the ability to gain xp in a live group with it. Most xp was gained through a tumbler. Now I know that wasn't the case with some, but most where. The GCW can not provide the xp because everyone goes down by mind. If this is the case we should be able to craft Damage Stims that heal mind like the ones you get from the singing mountain clan.

Question: Can xp be gained in a game where groups are a thing of the past?

Go and hang out in places like fort tusken and the squill cave where people are grinding profs like swordsman/fencer/tka. Most of these people take huge amounts of wound damage and BF; BF moreso, but I heal myself everyday of 100+ wounds in health, action, etc... When I was gaining experience to become a doctor, wound damage was the best XP that I could find. I would get 700-1500 of points of xp per heal on guys that had significant wound damage. Buffing people yields decent xp also. Honestly, Doctor shouldn't be mastered in a day or a week. People will be shocked because they may actually have to do something other than heal tumblers...*gasp* and won't make Master doctor in 2 days *double gasp*...It's sad that tumbling was even allowed in the game...

u must understand that the whole point of this thread is the fact they will REMOVE recursive macros

that may or may not underscore the removal of the /macro command or the /ui commands

so the /macro healatumble type things wont work

Maybe what will happen is that people will once again begin to enter med centers to get healed. I took novice medic because I got tired of the AFK healers in the Coronet medical bay. If I KNEW people were there, and were hungry for my wounds, I'd have no trouble dropping the skill.

Using an alias file you can achieve a limited yet long secondary macro to active the one created and linked with the alias file.

Regardless if they remove the recursive macros, players are creative and will find a solution.

It's a shame that more doctors don't use the /register command to let others know there is actually a healer in the house. I'm sure if more docs registered, more players would check the planetary map to see where they should go for wound healing. Of course, the bug of all player med centers being automatically registered (even when no one is there) would have to be fixed....

I do hope that med centers become a friendly place to be again, where everyone can talk and have a good time while healing takes place. Maybe they could even add a little background music like some waiting rooms have. I love the salon music, I'm sure there is something fitting for med centers.

"It's a shame that more doctors don't use the /register command to let others know there is actually a healer in the house."

We can just hope that the combat revamp fixes docs and wound healing. The only time someone has REAL wounds to heal, is when they were diseased, or were flamed or something, so real wounds right now are nearly PvP only. PvE wounds can be taken care of by a novice medic with wound Bs.

The other problem is WHY would a doc use /register? Most docs I know hide unless they are buffing, because we have to pay to heal other people.

When the med center, as a game mechanic, starts paying 1cr for every wound healed, you might see some docs in the med center healing. Again though, there are not many significant wounds caused by PvE (heh unless you didnt clone).

"Question: Can xp be gained in a game where groups are a thing of the past?"

I don’t think groups are a thing of the past. At any given time there is a non-solo group forming at the Dath outpost for rancor hunting. Also the solo hunters come back with wounds for more missions and to clear bf in the cantina. The Dant Mining Outpost is another excellent place to pickup med experience. I was in the Warren yesterday and almost everyone was grouped.

I did not use tumblers for medic, CM, nor Doctor and don’t think you need them. I think all afk play detracts from the game and will be glad to see it go.
