Had fun tonight, was buffing at Dantooine for usual price 12k over 2500 stats for 3 hrs.

When line first started and I am going by order of bank tips as usual, then a player Climax on Ahazi starts saying, "I tipped, buff me now." I told him the rules and going by order of bank tip. He keeps saying the SAME THING. Finally I sent him tell repeating it, then he yell F U all (not going to repeat exactly, but you get it). I said, "Fine, not buffing you at all with that attitude, btw, you WERE next."

He goes off and tips ANOTHER buffer 10k and does it AGAIN. She refused and he said, "Tip ME BACK NOW!" Of course she didn't and he went to yet another buffer and paid 15k.

Now this is a total of 37k now for a buff. He sits in line, and the docs and I are talking about his attitude. The last one decides he's being nice and will buff him. I paid him 100k to not buff him. Then right afterwards, the guy does it AGAIN even before he gets denied. He then goes running around cussing out all the doctors. I am tipping his money back to customers and telling them it came from Climax, enjoy. He then gets mad and start demanding his refund or buff. I told him if he was nice and apolagize, I would buff him. STILL he just keeps repeating, I tipped buff me NOW! EVERYBODY in starport in yelling at him. I asked him if he could speak english thinking it was a language and misunderstanding problem. NOPE, he starts cussing AGAIN!

This guy never got his buff and went on. But what is it with ppl and their attitudes? His last words were, "I'm reporting all of you MF doctors!"

Now, is there anything that states we have to buff people like this? I doubt it, but it was fun watching him storm around DEMANDIND buffs. I learned from day one, don't mess with Doctors. Any of you on Ahazi, I recommend denying him service. I will return favor for any bad customers and put them on ignore list. We need a denial list!

I buff quite often at Mining Outpost on Dant and I agree with you that Climax is a real PITA. There are actually quite a few there that fall into that category. Foxhound comes to mind.

I deal with it in two ways. First, I immediately send them a tell and let them know they are going on ignore and any future monies from them is mine to keep. I also have a "no buff" list right next to my keyboard. I write down problem children and I never buff them. Ever.

Risk! Risk anything! Care no more for the opinions of others, for those voices. Do the hardest thing on earth for you. Act for yourself. Face the truth.

Yah I had a problem once with a player that kept telling me to hurry up. Now I was about to go after some elders so I did not use halva. He starts saying "lets go" and " hurry up". So I telll him chill out dude ill get to you. No he didnt like that he demands buff me now I tipped im in a hurry. I tip him back his money and tell him well now you can wait for the shuttle back to coronet. He was heated and tells me I'll kick your a**. I reply you unbuffed you sure about that. He says ok wait till i get buffed. So he asks around nd guess what I was the only doctor at outpost. Anyway it is understood in most players eyes that we provide a service and for me ill buff 99% of the time. I only have 2 rules be nice and be patient. Thats all I ask. If they cant then they can find thier buff else where.

I will follow anyone's denial list for Ahazi. People like these don't deserve buffs ever.

Just remember /deny is something you need to do every time you log in. If the person isn't online, I'm not sure it even works. Best to just ignore the person, send them the denial message if they show up near you. But I'm afraid there isn't anyway to make a server wide denial list, nor anyway to convince everyone to use it.

Take Whisky, for example. I'm surehe enjoyed that moment of putting that rude jerk in his place. Pat yourself on the back, Whisky, then think about how you run a service that helps encourage a lack of respect and manners for another profession by having an afking mindbuffbot going, as well as attempting to share the macros with anyone and everyone on how to do it as if that were a crusade worth your time. Don't think it hurts you? Think again. People like this Climax start the game, get used to using robot buffers where they dont' need to be polite, then feel that they shouldn't have to be polite no matter what type of buff they are getitng. SInce it is so much easier for them not to be polite and (I quote from another doctor posting about getting afk entertainer buffs) "they just don't want to deal" with having to be civil when they want something. Theafkbot doesn't demand them to be. Any surprise that these people are going to try to treat us live doctors the same way?

We can tell the rude jerks to take a hike. But what is someone supposed to do when they know that if they say go somewhere else, the "somewhere else" is two steps away and politeness is not required?

I think that is why Ethor posted this. Ethor knows that his power to say no to rude behavior is meaningless if other doctors (or buffbots) are around who don't care about player behavior. All that will happen is that Ethor will lose business as word spreads that Doctor X doesn't even check very often if you paid, doesn't care if you're rude or whatever, and basically can buff just about as well. That is why he even PAID another doctor 100k to avoid buffing this guy.He wanted to be sure that Climax knew that being rude had consequences.

The trouble is,there are few consquences in a world of players who don't care to treat others nicely and dont' care if they are treated nicely. That is what has happened to entertianers, and is starting to happen to us, all in the name of "its a game, don't tell me how to play it".Too bad the buff-bot doctors won't agree to denial lists, as they aren't there to care how they are treated. And there are probably even some live players who dont' care long as they get paid. We can't tell the rude types to be polite, and we dont' even have much power to see they get shut out in the cold. All we can do is remember to help and reward positive behavior when we see it. If someone takes the trouble to help you in some way, such as giving you an extra tip or meat, or offering to include you in something, then return the favor. That is something the rude people will miss out on. They limit their possible allies, all in pursuit of a hollowsense of power, and that may be the only punnishment they get for their rudeness, and perhaps, it is enough. Alot of people are nice to us because of our skills, and the counterpart is, a lot will try to abuse us because of our skills. At the end of the day, we are all just playing a game so we have to focus on those who increase our fun and ignore those who don't.
