Thread: Question to all you Master Doc's (What is the best MDOC/Combat Skill Combo)

I am a soon to be master Doc and am wondering what the best combat skill would be to suppliment Doc. I was thinking a meelee would be good cuz of the tuffness, but what are the opinions of the experienced. Now lets see who is the most original....

This is just my personally. I prefer to focus my efforts on healing others, so my Health and Action stats, along with substats, are pretty weak. I picked up CH, and am currently at 3-3-0-0 in it. When ever the group gets into trouble, i send in one of my pets, to provide cover, while I do my thing. I also have novice pistoleer, because I am not immune to agros, so I needed a way to defend myself, while I still heal. I got Pistoleer because of the extra use of the DX2 pistol, acid damage and light armor peircing. Remember, this is just my personal preference, but I hope it helps you get an idea of what you like. Also, I chose guns, over fists, so that I would still be able to heal, even when fighting. with my guns, I can run from the MoB, while still firing, and I also get varied damage types, in case the situation changes. I haven't found a good SR Combat Pistol yet, so I carry a FWG5, a good Scout Blaster, and my DX2. Heat, Energy, and Acid, in case I need to swap out in mid-battle.

TKA. Be that 4k HAM solo-ing tank!


I just saw a friend of mine with a MD/TKM build essentially solo a nightsister elder. That's a 31k HAM mob with 100% resistance to kinetic damage.


I'm 2 boxes from that identical build and so far its just been a blast to play.


The only problem with this build? No terrain negotation. Ouch. Where's my mount?

Every TK I duel I beat. The reason, Mind bleed


I hit once, and get KD'ed. I "could" get up, but it's a lot more fun to lay there and watch them whack away only to suddenly incap and have no idea why

Course, there are ways to have over 10K mind with dancer buffs/spice/food/drink/TK boost.


If there mind is that high, I would get owned by a TK.

I've watched a few duels between M2H and TKM. But once the TKM has KD/dizzied/incapped the M2H and is bleeding, I just see them meditate and watch that bleed tick drop in no time.


Plus a TKM can boost/spice/food to 4k mind with no dancer.

Hmm, all the time I have dueled, the TK incaped before I did. Takes 2-3 ticks to incap them, and as a master Doc w/ 80% Adv Composite, it takes longer for them to damage me then for the mind bleed to incap them. (unless they havehighbuffed mind).


Anyway, the point of this post is not to get into a PvP war abuot TK/2HS, it to let the guy know what class is best to play. And I think we both agree it's a Melee class. Once you get Novice TK or Novice 2HS it's quick to master (Being a doc and always buffed that is ), so try them both out and see what ya think!

CH is always good for damage dealing, no matter what class you are, but I think the class that gets the biggest boost if you’re a doc, is two handed sword.


A Master Doc/Master 2hs is a great combo. The main issue with 2hs alone is the power hammer use cost. It takes a ton of health away from you every time you swing it. Unbuffed I do 250 points of health damage to myself every time I swing. (That’s extreme, as I have all the health/action stats at minimum.) Buffed I take no health damage when I swing the hammer.


Also, the hammer uses very little Mind to swing, as a master doc it’s the only pool you care about.


The only issue imo is, a Master 2hs it about 40% what a Master 2hs/Master brawler is, and you don’t have enough points to master 2hs/brawler/doc.


Another great thing about 2hs (and any melee class for that matter) is they’re so much fun to play. CH is fun because you have an army, but imo that gets old quicker then Melee. Unfortunately, they both get old.
