I got the game 2 days after it came out. This has been this way for me at least since day one. I used to mud a lot and I am a programmer, so i think im getting the syntax right and all. It seems this thing would be easy to fix, but I dont know. It sure would improve my fun derived from playing.

example

/alias hc /healdamage Cadence

then when im shooting a monster and it is my target, I type /hc

This results in me healing myself and not Cadence even though he is within range. It has always been this way and it is frustrating. Thank you for your quick answer Z. I appreciate it.

Yeah, I use to want to use this for healing someoneI might be trying to hand-sample with, but it onluy worked if I kept them targeted. It just ignored their name completely.

Question, though, for someone who may have access to the game right now. If you go to the Ctrl-A screen and select a command (in this case click on Healdamage for me) it will often display a syntax and a description. Does the description state the command usage as /healdamage <name>?

Why is it that when I am my target or I have an monster targeted, and I type

/healdamage <insertnamehere>

it heals me and not my buddy (who is 3m away and named <insertnamehere>.

I would love to be able to alias /healdamage <buddyname> for each of the people I hunt with. This would allow me to be able to continue bashing my target while healing my buddies without changing focus. Is this the way it is supposed to work? If so, how come I can have my buddy targeted, and thepe

/healdamage self

and I heal myself. Thanks in advance.

There's apparently been some kind of change that has messed this up a bit (although it never really worked for me, but I realy didn't try since probably July.) Some folks ont he Correspondent forum suggest that they are seeing targeting and name problems like this primarily after having ridden a mount. SOmething to consider, at least.

Its listed simply as /healdamage

No mention of <name> at all, unlike firstaid which is listed with the name option.
