heya zarlor im a master doc on corbantis (mettig) i originally came to file a few complaints,but after reading all of the recent posts by you most of them are eased a bit.


i do allthough have a few concerns still.


1.although other trades when crafting at master can have resources overlap we cannot..we are still forced to the same stedfast resource restriction,which i would like to see changed.it is getting increasingly aggrivating to find absolute junk meat to use on my buff d's and i would like to see 2 options for meat on the general assembly of packs..after all avian and herbivore really are not far removed from each other. and maybe add carnivore meat into the adv part resource list and remove herb from it.


2.the ability of non tull doctors to use buffs period.they are nerfing us non ch to lvl 10 pets why not do the same for doctor profession. it's either an all or nuthing thing,this would make us much more appreciated and used,if no one but doc's could use higher end items i think we would be more in demand.it simply kills us that a person with only the knowledge tree can have thier stats maxed in the secondaries and use a or b buff packs to enhance health and action enough to equip thier armor.


3. surveying..a constant issue with us and finding our supplies...well why not ask for a medical survey exclusive droid that you can power up for an amount of time and set it waypoints on a planetary map to survey a waypointed area and have it take a certian amount of time to do it. if it runs out of power it stops survaying,or when the task you gave it is done...just an idea if it's like feel free to elaborate on it.


anyway as i said i play on corbantis and i've been a doc for about a month now with no plans on chasing a jedi slot,i enjoy playing the medical profession as im tired of hack and slash from my other games.


i started as doc,cm but have decided to switch to only doc as trying to manage both got very overwelming,as i charge for buffing and am usually the only doc in theed or searchable i can easily go through about 15 of each type of buff daily heh,usually im having to utulize the services of muscians so i can keep a constent state of mind.i like most docs will not whine about not being tipped for healing or mending wounds as i use only b wound packs which require very little in expensive resource and i make more than enough on buffing to cover the cost of the ocassional heal.


maybe docs on other servers could follow my formula of charging a decent price for buffing since usually we are stuck to buying what we need,and get the repeat bussiness by actually offering a heal when its asked for.


actual event : i usually camp the theed spaceport to buff,i charge my price and there are 3-4 other master docs who will frequently show up and sit about spamming thier prices,but players will often walk by them or seek me out and pay my price simply because on a previous occasion i gave the friendly heal or wound mend.mind you mine really are no better than the other docs i would immagine power 790-800 with just over 11k sec duraton,unfortunatly even that base power does not exclude me form a dismall 600 buff that lasts 3 hours lol.


i would also like to note to get repeat bussiness ive come to notice if i refund a junk buff that i'll get more repeat bussiness than someone who charges a flat non refundable buff fee,and a discount to repeats.


anyway this turned into a friggin i dunno what post heh..rant,thoughts,ideas


i dont plan on doing anything other than doc other than picking up tkm so i can defend myself when im tef'd form buffing overts.

I consider this to be a part of the survey issue, actually. In fact I'm trying to take, in part, the angle with the Devs that the reason Survey and.or Harvest is such a HUGE thing to Docs is because of the crafting requirements that are not laid on ANY other hybrid crafting profession. As such some form of survey and.or harvest for the medical professions is but one possible solution to a deeper underlying problem. Another possibility might be a much greater reduction in the restrictiveness of our crafting requirements. But overall that is an ongoing conversation I'm trying to have with them (and the response rates are pretty slow because they are so darned busy, but it IS being talked about.)

I don't realy consider any level of dabbling in Doc to be a minor commitment, IMHO. You have to Master all of Medic just to pick up Novice. I think it is very viable for folks to pick up just what they might need if they want to be able to only buff for a few hundred instead of a few thousand. That's a lot of skillpoints to use to get that kind of ability. "Dabbling" most definitely has its place in a skills-based game and is part of the overall strategy requirements of the game. I don't see that our situatuation necessarily agrees with the issues in the CH line.


It should be noted, though, that a recent error that was fixed in the Ease of Use experimentation on Enhances actually "fixrd" Med Use levels on some of these packs to start back up at a level where they should have been to begin with. It is also a part of that issue and one of our general issues for a very long time that we would like to see mroe granularity in packs through Med Use levels. We've made a proposal for Med Use levels on Enhances that is probably more appropriate to ensure a gradual increase in Med Use levels to create a more stepped effect in Enhance packs based on Med Use skill levels.

That is one of many solutions that have been offered on the issue. Fear not, it is definitely in there, especially if you follow the threads I've linked from that issue.
