My fellow Doctors, I am amazed at the level of greed seen in enhancement medicine. I have seen people (on Bria) charging as much as 20k for a buff!
Amazingly, when the money spent on the six enhancement used on a person, for me, is about 4k. So, when I charge 10k, that is a 6k profit!
Do you agree? Are doctors getting too greedy, or is this within reason?

To be honest 20k is still a steal for those getting buffed - nevermind how much it costs for us to make it. It has nothing to do with greed. I am currently a master Doctor/Swordsman. Doing Solo missions I can easily make 200k+...easily within an hour. Without buffing many people would not be able to do this.
Another thing - sitting around and buffing people is boring as all hell. It's a service that is in high demand - you could sit around and buff endlessly. Doing this boring work should factor into the price alot in my mind.
Today I was buffing at the Mining Outpost in Dantooine (for 10k)- a line started sooooo quickly (at least 20 people with just one shout - the only one I had to do). Ok so I buffed as many as I could and then stopped at some point. At that point I got about 5 tells with people offering 30k if I could stay a little while longerand buff them - so I did so. The point is that these people (a majority i'm sure) cannot do what they want to do in the game without getting buffed. Therefore I think that 10k is really really cheap for a buff - although it is what I'll continue to charge - certainly no less.
1. The money you can make while buffed
2. The tedious nature that buffing entails
3. The demand for buffing is incrediably high
I think all those things factor in the right to charge more if you wanted. I don't think it's greed at all - and definetly within reason.

I see this as Supply and Demand. The Doctors are one of a few classes that can buff. Also, if you look at it, 10, even 20k is realtively cheap compared to the benefit you can get from the buff. I personally wont be charging more than 10-12k for buffs. Im not a doctor yet, nearly just restarted SWG after a 6-7 month hiatus.

I charge 6k for buffs on Bria, but I am not a commercial doctor.
While you're looking at Doctors being greedy, look at the prices for meats& resources on Bria, too. 100+CPU for Avian Meat?! 10+ CPU for resources?
Buffs are the only thing I charge for. I certainly don't consider myself greedy.

Wellmost of us raised prices because of theE-mail bankscam from a while back, and so that cause the initial hike in prices (to 10k), and then the buff bots came, and raised prices even more since they were looking for a quick profit (and doc can be mastered in less than a day). Also as more and more doctors went buffing, the price of the resources to make buffs went higher (I had to pay 300 cpu for my avian meat alone), which leaves us with the 20k buffs (which causes the hunters to be mad and sell the resources higher, which causes us to raise prices, ect.).

obijohn, I never thought of it in the terms you descibe. After hearing the doctor enhancement process described in those terms, I suppose you are quite right. Great points!
